The automaker identified a flaw in the starting software that is present in models manufactured between 2020 and 2025 and sold throughout the country
Volkswagen do Brasil announced on Monday (4) a recall campaign that involves about 118 thousand vehicles. The technical call occurs due to a software failure in the digital instrument panel when starting the engine, which can compromise all its functions.
The problem affects some of the main models in the brand’s national line manufactured between 2020 and 2025 and sold throughout the country, including the recently launched Tera compact SUV.

The recall covers units manufactured between October 23, 2020 and October 14, 2025. The following models with respective chassis are recalled:

According to the automaker’s official statement, a programming error in the component called the combined instrument prevents the display from being activated along with the ignition. In practice, the driver is unable to view crucial information for safety, such as:
Driving without these parameters increases the risk of collisions and severe mechanical damage, since the driver cannot monitor the condition of the car or receive alerts about possible critical failures during the journey.
The necessary fix, according to the brand, consists of updating the dashboard management software. The service is completely free and the estimated repair time at authorized workshops is up to 2 hours.
Face-to-face service at dealerships will start next Monday, May 11 and Volkswagen informed that it will send letters to owners, but recommends that customers check the need for repair in advance.
