A modern car has about 30 thousand different parts, with luxury models being able to triple that number. The body is easier to divide into parts, as it is made of large metal or plastic panels.
Some of these parts depend on the body type of the car. Let’s show you what they all are below.

Many parts are shared by all body types. We list the most common ones and their functions below:
Lighthouse: It is responsible for the lighting of the road;
Fog light: Pair of additional lights with lower beam for situations of poor visibility is usually optional;
Fender: It was once a prominent piece, today it is integrated. Its function is to absorb impacts to protect the most important parts of the car;
Fender: It is called that because in the past the wheels were exposed and the fender prevented them from throwing mud on the cabin or passengers. Today it is integrated and protects the wheels from impacts on the side;
Port: It is the access to the cabin;
Rearview Mirror: It has a mirror to be able to see what is behind the car;
Windshield: It is the name of the front window;
Hood: Front cover covering the engine safe or front trunk in electric or rear-engined cars;
Grade: This name can be used both for the front air intake and for the part that is between the headlights;
Trunk lid: Its name is self-explanatory, it is the access to the trunk. In hatchback cars, SUV, station wagon, minivan and some coupes it climbs together with the watchman;
Flashlight: It is the name of the set of rear lights, which include the brake light, turn signal and reverse light;
Watchman: Car rear window;
Antenna: This piece usually comes on the roof, but it was once common to come on the fenders. It picks up the radio signal.
