New tool gives the license candidate the power to locate, choose and evaluate instructors through the platform
The Ministry of Transport has launched the New Instructor’s Journey, a new feature within the CNH do Brasil application. The update allows the candidate to choose instructors and driving schools by geolocation, consult evaluations and negotiate classes directly, aiming to reduce costs and bureaucracy.
According to the Minister of Transport George Santoro, “the expectation is to accelerate the implementation of the program more and more. This tool ensures more balanced conditions between autonomous instructors and driving schools, ensuring that the choice is up to the student, who is free to decide with whom he will learn to drive”.

The tool was based on the rules established by Resolution 1.020/2025 of the National Traffic Council (Contran), which established the new process for obtaining the National Driver’s License (CNH). Among the various changes planned are:
Through the application, it is possible to filter qualified instructors and Driver Training Centers (CFCs) by zip code, address or geolocation. In addition to the search, the system implemented an evaluation model from zero to five stars, allowing the candidate to analyze the professional’s reputation before hiring.
The student can also check the availability of times and locations for classes, according to the terms established by the DMV of each state. To facilitate contact, the app provides a button for direct conversation via WhatsApp, where prices and times can be negotiated without intermediaries, but the class must be scheduled in the app.
The instructor himself is responsible for recording and validating the activities carried out, officially confirming the participation of each student. The registration of the class takes place via biometrics and GPS, sending the data in real time to the National Registry of Licensed Drivers (Renach).
The integration of the national platform with the State Traffic Departments (Detrans) occurs in real time. All classes and updates in the application are recorded via biometrics and GPS, being immediately enrolled in Renach.
Instructors can register these classes as freelancers or when they are at the service of a driving school. At the end, the student receives a digital certificate with the detailed workload.
Autonomous or driving school instructors can register on the national platform through the application itself. The new system allows the sending of documents, automatic validation of the necessary requirements and makes the theoretical course available.
To act as an accredited instructor and appear in the application’s searches as a freelancer, the professional must meet the following requirements (Law No. 12,302/2010):
Those who already work hired by a driving school must continue with their activities normally and, at the same time, if they wish, they can work independently, from the tool.
After registration, the Traffic Instructor seal is included in the professional’s Digital CNH. In this way, when starting the New Instructor’s Journey, the self-employed now have a digital profile with a photo and resume. In the exclusive area for instructors, each one can organize and manage their services.
Attention: Instructors already registered in the state systems have until July 6, 2026 to update their data on the CNH do Brasil platform.
The qualification of instructors remains under the responsibility of each state DMV, which must register traffic instructors in Renach, coordinated by the Ministry of Transport. The names of accredited professionals by municipality and state can also be consulted on the website created by the Ministry of Transport.
To ensure security, the National Instructor Credential was created, a digital document with QR Code available in the application that works as an official document to prove that the professional is an accredited instructor. The digital card will be made available free of charge, valid throughout the national territory and can be exported in PDF.
This document facilitates inspection and proves the professional’s regularity throughout the national territory. In case of disabling, the professional is no longer on the official list of autonomous instructors on the CNH do Brasil platform.
Since the launch of CNH do Brasil in December 2025, the program has presented record data:
