Kia Sorento combines sophistication with unwavering robustness

The SUV segment continues to expand. New proposals emerge all the time. But let’s be frank: a SUV, by function, needs to bring together some indelible attributes. And, at this point, the Kia Sorento is not an option, it is a reference.

SUV segment The South Korean SUV is a living witness to Kia’s evolution. Launched in 2002, the model not only followed the evolution of the segment, but also redefined concepts. In its fourth generation, the Sorento remains a reference in the large SUV segment, attentive to new technological demands, without giving up reliability to go back and forth, whatever the destination.

practicalityWith more than 4 million units sold worldwide, the Sorento is one of Kia’s flagship products. And, therefore, there is always special attention to any and all evolution of the model. It arrived at the 2026 line completely renewed and proves that it is possible to improve what was already good.

Mechanical assembly for all situations

Kia is a brand that follows industry trends and seeks the permanent evolution of its products. The Kia Sorento is equipped with a 2.2 turbodiesel engine, developed to offer high energy efficiency and performance in different conditions of use. The engine delivers 194 hp of power and 45 kgfm of torque, combined with an eight-speed dual-clutch automated transmission, which provides quick and smooth shifts.

The mechanical assembly is complemented by the all-wheel drive on demand (AWD) system, capable of automatically distributing torque between the front and rear axles according to grip and driving conditions, increasing traction capacity, stability and safety, both on paved surfaces and on low-grip terrain.

To offer the best behavior in different conditions of use, the Sorento has four driving modes (Normal, Eco, Sport and Smart), as well as three terrain options (Snow, Mud and Sand). In practical terms, this translates into greater efficiency, comfort or sportiness in use on asphalt, but also maximum traction and torque control on low-grip surfaces.

Sweeping design and generous

measurementsThe Kia Sorento has always drawn attention for its muscular and elegant size. The SUV combines the evolution of the brand’s design language, but without giving up striking references, such as the third side window, with a steeper angle than the C-pillar.

Seen from the front, the Sorento impacts with its optical assembly and LED signature (Star Map). The traditional grille, which refers to the appearance of a tiger, reinforces the identity of the model and the South Korean brand. The 19-inch wheels, with a diamond finish, are a show apart. Its turbine styling creates a sense of movement, even when the car is parked. The taillights, on the other hand, maintain harmony with aesthetic reasons, but without giving up functionality, with an elevated position to offer better visibility and safety in traffic.

But it is not enough to be beautiful, it is necessary to be functional. With 4.81 m in length and 2.81 m in wheelbase, the Sorento is big on the outside and gigantic on the inside. The height of 1.69 m and the width of 1.90 m give the SUV proportions that make it a practical car in everyday use, but with excellent cabin space for all seven of its occupants.

Its trunk offers different configurations. With maximum capacity, there are 179 liters for luggage, which allows you to accommodate items for outings with the whole family. When the third row is folded down, the volume jumps to an impressive 608 liters.

And, if it is necessary to transport large volumes, just fold down the central row, creating a true trunk of 1,996 liters. All this makes the Sorento a multipurpose car for the most diverse daily needs, whether to take the gang to soccer, travel with the family or transport that delicate piece of furniture to the farm.

Contents and finish of the Sorento 4×4

The Kia Sorento has always stood out in interior space, finish and content. Since the first generation, which landed in Brazil in the first half of the 2000s, the SUV has already impressed with the quality of the materials and contents on board. In the current line, the list is even more expressive.

The all-new Sorento offers a comprehensive package of safety, technology, comfort and convenience equipment, reaffirming Kia’s commitment to delivering a premium experience for all seven occupants. It offers items such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel integrated into the multimedia center with a 12.3-inch touch screen and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, induction cell phone charger, two-zone automatic digital air conditioning, leather-covered seats with electric adjustments for driver and passenger and trunk lid with electric activation (Smart Tailgate).

The safety package includes cameras with 360° vision, blind spot monitor with dashboard view, adaptive cruise control with congestion assistant, lane keeping and centering assistant, autonomous emergency braking with vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist detection, intersection collision avoidance assistant, safe exit alert, in addition to six airbags and several electronic driving assistance and stability systems.
