Jetour T2 XWD starts at R$ 349.900 to face the Tank 300
All-wheel drive version brings even more power and a larger battery than some electric hatchbacks

Jetour arrived in Brazil in early 2026 with three models and an adventurous proposal. But the fact that they are all front-wheel drive has generated criticism from the public. This has now been solved with the T2 XWD, which brings all-wheel drive and promises to be good on trails.
It is positioned as the brand’s top of the line, with a fixed price of R$ 349.900. Buyers of the first 599 units will pay R$ 339.900 for the model.

In addition to bringing more power and four-wheel drive, the Jetour T2 XWD adds some equipment over the Premium 4×2 model: legrest for the passenger seat with electric adjustment and black headliner.
The hybrid system gained a larger battery, 43.2 kWh, which allows it to run up to 106 km in electric mode in Inmetro’s methodology. It can receive direct current fast recharging. Consumption is 10.5 km/l in the city and 9.3 km/l on the highway.
The four engines of the Jetour T2 XWD

The technical sheet of the Jetour T2 XWD is extensive. It uses a 1.5 turbo combustion engine and two electric ones for the front axle, the rear one has a dedicated electric one. See below the power of each one:
- 1.5 turbo engine: 135 hp / 20,4 kgfm
- Front electric motor 1: 102 hp / 17.3 kgfm
- Front electric motor 2: 122 hp / 22.4 kgfm
- Rear electric motor: 238 hp / 31.5 kgfm
The 1.5 turbo gasoline has direct injection and works in the Miller cycle, to prioritize efficiency. The three front motors work in conjunction with a three-speed DHT gearbox and are identical to those of the 4×2 version.
Jetour discloses the power of 597 hp and the torque of 91,7 kgfm, which are the direct sum of all these four engines. The brand justifies that it did this because there is no technical standard on the disclosure of the force in electrified cars in Brazil.

In practice, the driver will never have 597 hp or 91,7 kgfm when pressing the accelerator to the metal, as each engine reaches its power and torque peaks at different regimes. In the car’s own technical sheet there is a justification saying: “Simple sum of individual powers. Power not available simultaneously during use”.
Recently, Quatro Rodas reported that Jaecoo, which is part of the Chery group like Jetour, has changed the way it calculates the power of the J7. The brand also added everything, but now follows a more realistic UN norm that reduced the cavalry from 339 hp to 279 hp and the torque dropped from 52 kgfm to 37 kgfm.
Attributes for off-road

The rear engine is connected to a differential that has a mechanical lock. During off-roading, the driver can activate this function so that the two wheels rotate together, which helps to get out of difficult situations.
The electronic one helps with the eight driving modes: normal, eco, sport, rocks, sand, snow, mud and X. The latter is the intelligent mode, which analyzes driving conditions in real time and adjusts the parameters for the driver.
The Jetour T2 XWD also has the tank turn function, which brakes the rear inner wheel to reduce the turning circle. It can only be used in one of the off-road driving modes.
The transposition capacity is 70 cm and the car has a real-time flooding meter, where the driver can monitor the depth of the place he is passing. The angle of attack is 28°, the departure angle is 30° and the clearance is 20.5 cm.
The brand positions the model as a rival to the GWM Tank 300, which has a chassis separate from the body, traditional 4×4 traction with transfer case, reduced and rigid axle at the rear. The differential of the Jetour T2 XWD is that it is closer to a passenger car, due to the monocoque structure.
Behind the wheel of the Jetour T2 XWD

The Jetour T2 XWD is a heavy car: 2,362 kg. This is justified, in part, by the battery similar to that of an electric hatch and the four motors, in addition to the large size.
When stepping on the accelerator, this mass is masked by the immediate delivery of torque from the electric motors. Responses when starting and overtaking are agile, even in Eco mode.
The car’s dashboard shows that the rear engine is the one that works the most in normal use, the 1.5 turbo comes in more as a generator and rarely sends power to the wheels. Only in Sport mode does the vehicle drive on both axles all the time.
However, the high weight appears in the curves, at these times the laws of physics prevail. The Jetour T2 XWD is a tall car with soft suspension, so it sways on asphalt with a lot of undulations and in curves.
This arrangement seems to have been made to prioritize off-road. Our contact included dirt roads and trails, where it was possible to notice the good travel of the suspension. We also proved that the rear differential lock is effective and provides more safety than systems that simulate it using the brake.
Overall, the Jetour T2 XWD delivers on the promise of bringing more off-road capability. But that put it up against a well-established rival, which is the GWM Tank 300.
