After being successful on social media during the Motor Show in 2025, the Honda Prelude finally goes on sale in Brazil. The sports coupe arrives in a single version for the price of R$ 380 thousand.
The Prelude returns to continue its tradition of being Honda’s technology showcase. The highlight this time is not four-wheel steering or the VTEC system, but the E:HEV hybrid set.
Show Another change was in the platform, the Prelude is no longer derived from the Accord to use the Civic platform. But it is shorter, measuring 4.52 m long, 1.35 m high and 2.60 m wheelbase, the width of 1.88 m is thanks to the enlarged gauges coming from the Type R.
The low body and coupe styling reinforce the Prelude’s position as an image car. Its seating configuration is 2+2, with the rear seat being able to take only children. The 264-liter trunk is enough for two carry-on bags and two backpacks.

The Prelude’s cabin resembles that of the Civic, but has details that give it its own personality. For Brazil, the finish will always be with black leather and white details.
The driver’s seat has more pronounced flaps and firmer foam than the passenger’s. On-board entertainment comes from the Bose sim system with 8 speakers, controlled by the multimedia center with native Google.

The Honda Prelude’s mechanical assembly is already known to Brazilians, it is the same one used by the Civic and the Accord. It combines the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with an electric one, for a total of 203 hp.
In Honda’s hybrid system, the 184 hp and 32,1 kgfm electric motor is the one that acts most of the time, while the 2.0 is the generator for the 72 Ah battery. When the combustion engine comes in to help with traction, it is done through a direct connection to the wheels, without the use of a gearbox. This reduces mechanical losses.
In the Prelude there is the S+ button, which changes the programming of the electric motor to create gears and make driving closer to a combustion car. He makes the leaps of the changes and in reductions even performs a punta-tacco. All of this is accompanied by the sound of the engine, which is amplified in the cabin by the sound system.
This mode is made for fun, because in cold numbers the car is faster with it disabled. The S+ can be combined with all four driving modes: comfort, GT, sporty and individual.
Honda do Brasil does not disclose performance figures, in other markets it is reported that it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. Consumption in Inmetro’s methodology is 17.9 km/l in the city and 15.7 km/l on the highway.

The big star in the new Honda Prelude is its dynamic behavior. The Japanese brand spared no effort when it came to setting up the coupe and brought the suspension of the Civic Type R.
As the Prelude has a more road-going vocation, the set-up is not as aggressive and makes it more permissive than the Civic Type R. The hybrid mechanics having 100 hp more makes it seem like there is floor left in the coupe, its limit takes longer to arrive.
Because it is shorter, the Prelude aims better in curves and has agile behavior. Our contact was limited to the Interlagos Circuit, where it was possible to explore these characteristics safely.
The brakes also came from the Civic Type R, supplied by Brembo and with four-piston calipers at the front. The tires are Continental with size 235/40 R19.

Those who reserve the Honda Prelude during the pre-sale will receive a series of benefits, including a cover, safety nut for the wheels, rubber mats, glazing in the paint and a miniature of the vehicle. The amount of R$ 380 thousand is not promotional and will be maintained after this period of reservations.
The Honda Prelude will also come with a range of homologated accessories, which includes spoilers, spoiler, diamond wheels and others. The warranty is 6 years with no mileage limit, as in the rest of the brand’s line.
