ES 2026 Licensing: check the Detran calendar, how to pay and CRLV issuance

Brazilian drivers must annually renew their Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV). This occurs automatically with the payment of the Motor Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA) and the Annual Vehicle Licensing Renewal Fee (TRLAV). The Espírito Santo Traffic Department (Detran-ES) has already released the dates and values of the 2026 licensing.

Once paid, the new document can be accessed through the CNH do Brasil application, the service portal of the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran) or the Detran website.

2026 licensing schedule in Espírito Santo

The DMV-ES has established the TRLAV payment schedule that varies according to the end of the vehicle’s license plate. The dates follow the IPVA due date, already released by the Department of Finance (Sefaz).

• The updated licensing (for the year 2026) will be inspected and charged from October 1st (10/01).

How to Pay for ES Licensing 2026

As in previous years, the Licensing and IPVA slips will be available on the official website of Detran-ES and will not be forwarded to the address of vehicle owners. The citizen must follow the following steps to issue the Single Collection Document (DUA) on the Detran-ES website.

On the Detran website

1. Visit the website www.detran.es.gov.br
2. Enter the 100% Digital Vehicle Services banner
3. Access the ‘Issuance of Licensing Ticket’ service
4. Log in to your Citizen Access account
5. Click on the vehicle’s license plate and issue DUA.

It is not necessary to print the slip to make the payment. The DUA has the QR Code for payment via Pix and the barcode for payment at the financial institutions indicated in the DUA. For the process to be complete and the driver to be able to issue the CRLV, in addition to paying the fee, it is necessary that he has also paid the IPVA and all traffic fines and pending issues associated with the vehicle.

Beware of the scam

Detran|ES warns that citizens should always access the ticket directly on the official website www.detran.es.gov.br and not search on search engines or withdraw the charge on pages other than the official website of the agency. In addition, the agency does not send the ticket to the address of the vehicle owner, nor does it charge by email, text message to the cell phone or WhatsApp.

How to access the CRLV 2026

It is possible to issue your car document from the CNH do Brasil app (former Digital Transit Card – CDT), simply:

1. Download the CNH do Brasil on your cell phone;
2. Log in to Gov.br;
3. Select the “Vehicles” menu and choose the “Register CRLV” field;
4. Fill out the form;
5. Create your access key (4-digit password) to access the app;
6. Click on the CRLV-e download button.

Fine for late licensing

According to the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), driving with an expired CRLV is a very serious infraction, with a fine of R$ 293.47 and seven points on the National Driver’s License (CNH).
