Those who have a large family need to resort in many cases to 7-seater cars. The cheapest new option today is the Citroën Aircross Feel7, which starts at R$ 123.790, but in the used market there are good options for much less.

The risk when buying a used 7-seater car is in the options that were offered. Some imported ones with three rows of seats have expensive maintenance or high consumption.

Here we will bring you five options for used cars with 7 seats that are quieter to maintain. Some are not cheap when it comes to going to the workshop, but at least they are reliable and known, unlike some imported ones that came in smaller volumes.

1. Chevrolet Spin

Chevrolet became a reference in 7-seater cars in Brazil thanks to Zafira, before this minivan it was necessary to resort to a Volkswagen Kombi or imports. Its successor was the Spin, which is a low-cost project made on a compact car platform.

The advantage of this downgrade is in cheaper maintenance, in addition to being a newer car. A significant worsening is in the third row, which in the Spin is not embedded in the floor as in the Zafira.

The Chevrolet Spin was only offered with the 1.8 Family 1 engine, which delivers a lot of torque at low revs. It has a six-speed automatic transmission option for those who want more comfort.

2. Fiat Doblo

The Fiat Doblo was the last representative of multivans in Brazil. It was a segment of vans and vans with passenger car size, which is successful in Europe to this day.

The passenger versions of the Fiat Doblo had two additional seats that were installed in the trunk as an option. The van shape allows for ample interior space, great visibility and is easily accessible through sliding side doors.

Our recommendation is to choose a newer model, already restyled. It came with GM’s 1.4 Fire, 1.8 Family 1 or 1.8 16v E.Torq engines, all with a good reputation for reliability.

3. Nissan Grand Livina

The Nissan Grand Livina was a stretched version of the Japanese minivan to be able to accommodate the third row of seats. It can be found for lower prices than the Chevrolet Spin, due to its age.

The Grand Livina came only with the 1.8 16v engine, which was also used in the short version and the Tiida hatch. It is a typical Japanese engine, with a chain synchronizing the camshaft and good fame. The transmission is a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic.

An advantage of the Nissan Grand Livina over the Chevrolet Spin is in the more neat interior. In more equipped versions, it even came with a face-to-face key and automatic air conditioning.

4. Mitsubishi Outlander

The second generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander grew in size and gained the option of 7 seats. The SUV was sold in Brazil with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, 3.0-liter V6 or a 2.3-liter turbodiesel.

Among these options, the most tranquil to have in Brazil is the 2.0, as it shares the mechanical set with the Lancer and the ASX. The performance will not be the best.

The Outlander is the best-equipped car on this list, featuring two-zone air conditioning, a sunroof, 7 airbags and a reversing camera. Avoid armored units, as at this age it will require additional maintenance.

5. Mitsubishi Pajero Dakar

This is an option for those who have a large family and like to travel to more isolated places. Among the 7-seater 4×4 SUVs, the Mitsubishi Pajero Dakar is the one with the best value for money in the used market.

The Toyota Hilux SW4 has the reputation of being indestructible, but that’s why it is valued and most units have high mileage. The Pajero Dakar is less valued and also has robust mechanics.

Its 3.2 turbodiesel engine is considered by Mitsubishi fans to be the best diesel the brand has ever offered in Brazil. The Pajero Dakar has 4×4 traction with reduced and center differential, allowing it to be used on asphalt.
