The Honda CB300F arrived a few weeks ago in its 2027 lineup, bringing its first major update since the model’s launch in early 2023. The main change is in the equipment part: the bike now has HSTC traction control and ABS in both versions, in addition to inverted front suspension and HISS safety system.

The update, however, does not represent a complete design change. The 293.5 cm³ single-cylinder engine remains practically the same, as does the Diamond-type steel chassis. Honda focused the changes mainly on safety, chassis, comfort and finish and now the model has a truly sporty footprint.

Another important change is in the range itself. The old CBS version ceases to exist and gives way to the CB300F Twister ABS, which becomes the entry option. At the top of the line is the CB300F Twister S, with an exclusive finish and visual elements.

The main technological novelty of the CB300F Twister 2027 is HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control). The system acts when it identifies a loss of grip from the rear wheel during acceleration, especially on low-grip surfaces.

The bike also now has ABS in both versions. The set uses a 276 mm front disc, with a two-piston caliper, and a 220 mm rear disc, with a single-piston caliper.

The gearbox remains six-speed and maintains the assisted and slipper clutch, which reduces the effort in activating the lever and helps prevent loss of rear wheel grip in downshifts.

Inverted front suspension is another novelty

The CB300F Twister 2027 also gained a new inverted-type Showa SFF-BP front suspension, with 38 mm tubes and 130 mm travel. The suspension stem brackets are made of aluminum, while the Diamond-type steel chassis remains.

At the rear, the bike continues to use a monoshock directly connected to the scale, with a dual-stage spring and 120 mm travel.

The handlebars were also revised and gained new mounts with cushions. According to Honda, the changes seek to improve both riding and comfort.

The engine remains a 293.5 cm³ single-cylinder, OHC, with four valves and air cooling. FlexOne technology allows gasoline and ethanol to be refueled.

With ethanol, the maximum power is 24.7 hp at 7.500 rpm, while the torque reaches 2.67 kgf.m at 5.500 rpm. With gasoline, it is 24.5 hp and 2.61 kgf.m, respectively.

That is, despite the various novelties on the motorcycle, there was no significant change in the mechanical set.

More safety and comfort equipment

Among the novelties is the HISS (Honda Ignition Security System) system, which uses an electronic chip in the original key to prevent the engine from being started by a key not recognized by the ignition module.

The lighting continues to be full-LED, but the front turn signals also work as position lights, being constantly on. The CB300F Twister 2027 also gained the ESS (Emergency Stop Signal), which automatically activates the indicator lights during sudden braking.

The LCD blackout digital panel also received Optical Bonding technology, which reduces reflections caused by sunlight and improves the reading of information. The equipment maintains functions such as gear indicator, tachometer, clock, fuel level, average and instantaneous consumption, autonomy and average speed, in addition to the USB-C outlet.

Twister S has a sportier look

The changes also appear in the look. The side fairings of the tank have been redesigned and gained more aggressive shapes, while the front fender is also new.

The CB300F Twister S differs even more from the ABS version. The top-of-the-line configuration receives exclusive graphics, red wheel trim, red rear spring and a tail cover that visually transforms the motorcycle into a kind of single-seater.

The passenger seat, however, continues to be provided as standard.
