Ten years after the debut of the XDiavel family in Brazil, Ducati officially presented the new XDiavel V4 in the national market. The sport cruiser abandons the old V2 engine in favor of the modern 1,158 cm³ V4 Granturismo, inherited from the technology developed for MotoGP, and now delivers 168 hp of power, in addition to a more sophisticated electronic package and a completely redesigned design.
Visually, the new generation maintains the proposal of combining the “muscular” style typical of cruisers with sporty elements of the Italian manufacturer. The bike received more aggressive lines, a new all-LED optical set, a redesigned tank and an exclusive finish in Burning Red. The ergonomics have also been revised, with the seat 770 mm from the ground and the handlebars have been repositioned.
The highlight is the 1,158 cm³ V4 Granturismo engine, which produces 168 hp at 10,750 rpm and 12,8 kgfm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine uses a counter-rotating crankshaft — a solution inspired by Ducati bikes in MotoGP — to reduce the gyroscopic effect and increase agility. Another differential is the system for deactivating the rear cylinders in situations of low load, contributing to reduce consumption and emissions, in addition to the valve adjustment interval of 60 thousand kilometers.
According to Ducati, the XDiavel V4 weighs 229 kg (without fuel), six kilograms less than the old XDiavel 1260 S. The combination of the weight reduction and the new mechanical set allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. The chassis includes a fully adjustable 50mm inverted fork, adjustable rear shock and Brembo Stylema brakes with dual 330mm discs.
In electronics, the sport cruiser offers three power modes and four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Wet), as well as cornering traction control, ABS Cornering, wheelie control, Launch Control, bidirectional quickshifter and cruise control. The 6.9-inch color TFT panel has Bluetooth connectivity for calls, music and Turn by Turn navigation, available as an accessory.
Ducati also offers a wide range of accessories to expand the tourist vocation of the XDiavel V4, including side cases, windshields, seats of different heights, titanium exhaust and carbon fiber components.
So far, the manufacturer has only confirmed the arrival of the new XDiavel V4 in Brazil in the color Burning Red. The price and start date of sales have not yet been disclosed.
