Xiaomi has intensified the promotion of its newest automotive project, the Sky Nomad N90. After the success of the SU7 sedan and the YU7 SUV, the Chinese technology giant is preparing its entry into the large utility vehicle segment under the new Sky Nomad sub-brand, with a proposal focused on versatility. Still in the teaser phase, before the official reveal, the model uses an EREV-type hybrid propulsion system (electric with range extender) and presents itself, according to the brand, as an “intelligent SUV with expandable space”.
Unlike the sporty look of the brand’s other models, the N90 adopts more robust shapes, in line with what is expected of a family SUV focused on comfort and habitability — a silhouette that brings it closer to rivals such as the Li Auto L9 and Nio ES8. The big highlight, however, is in the cabin. Instead of photos, Xiaomi has released schematics that resemble the floor plan of an apartment and reveal a flexible interior, capable, according to the company, of transforming the vehicle into a studio for one person, a café for two, a meeting room for three or a leisure space for the whole family.

This versatility is guaranteed by seats that slide and rotate 180º — a mechanism similar to that of the Zeekr MIX — allowing an internal arrangement similar to that of a minivan. Leaked images of the interior confirm the proposal by showing a center console with free passage between the front seats, which the brand suggests is removable. The project also bets on outdoor use, with a built-in roof tent, folding floor and high-power outlets to power equipment in camps.
In technical terms, the N90 should be the largest vehicle ever made by Xiaomi, with about 5.3 m in length and 3.1 m in wheelbase, and offer two seating configurations: 2+3, for five occupants, and 2+3+2, for seven.

Under the hood, a 1.5 turbo engine should act only as a generator to recharge the batteries, while traction should be in charge of two electric motors, one on each axle. The battery pack, above 70 kWh and supplied by Sunwoda and CALB, promises from 400 km to 500 km of electric range and more than 1,500 km in total.
Equipped with LiDAR (laser mapping sensor) on the roof, the Sky Nomad N90 signals focus on advanced driving assistance systems. Xiaomi is expected to release more details before the model’s official debut.
