Volvo presented on Monday (15) the 2027 line of the XC60, which underwent a restyling and received the most relevant technical change of its career: a 41.2 kWh battery that raises the SUV’s electric range to up to 200 km in the European WLTP cycle. According to the manufacturer, the number is more than two and a half times the range of the plug-in hybrid currently in line.
Installed on the floor, the battery replaces the 18.8 kWh unit — there are 37.9 kWh useful — without compromising the trunk, which continues to have 468 liters. With the combustion engine in action, Volvo estimates more than 1,200 km of total autonomy. The alternating current recharging power rose from 6.4 kW to 11 kW, which allows the battery to be completed in about four hours. There is no fast current recharge.

There are two electrified configurations: the T6 AWD Long Range combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 180 hp and a 177 hp electric motor on the rear axle, for a combined 356 hp and the 200 km electric.
The T8 AWD Long Range uses the same gasoline engine, now with 250 hp, and reaches 461 hp combined, with 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and 189 km electric.
At the base of the European range is the B5 AWD, with the 2.0 turbo of 250 hp and 36.7 kgfm and 48 V mild hybrid system.

On the outside, the changes are discreet: thinner grille, redesigned bumpers, hood and fenders, new 20-inch and 21-inch wheels and the new Heather Bronze color. The Matrix LED headlights maintain the signature in the shape of Thor’s Hammer, with a cleaner layout, and the rear gains darkened taillights.
Inside, the dashboard and door trims have been redesigned, with wooden appliqués and ventilated Nappa leather. The 11.2″ vertical screen runs the Volvo Car UX interface and integrates the Google Gemini artificial intelligence assistant, activated by voice to plan routes, search for stops and respond to messages.
New radars, cameras and sensors enable automatic emergency braking and steering, cyclist approach warning before opening the doors and a 360-degree camera with three-dimensional vision.
The same long-range plug-in set arrives at the XC90, with an electric range of up to 160 km.
Orders for the renewed XC60, including the Black Edition configuration, are already open in select markets in Europe, with production expected to start by the end of the year. Volvo has not yet confirmed a deadline for Brazil, where the novelty is expected to land in 2027.
Here, the XC60 is sold in four versions, all with the T8 AWD plug-in hybrid with 462 hp and 72,3 kgfm, 18,8 kWh battery and electric range of 48 km: Plus, from R$ 459.950; Ultra, for R$ 509.950; Ultra Dark, for R$ 519.950; and Polestar Engineered, for R$ 539.950.
