Toyota Yaris Cross is up to R$ 22.500 cheaper and touches the Jeep Avenger

Toyota applied discounts to all versions of the Yaris Cross 2026 in September, with discounts that reach R$ 22.500 in the entry-level configuration. With the action, the compact SUV touches the price range of cheaper rivals and now has hybrid versions paired with combustion options.

The biggest cut is in the XR 1.5 Flex sold to customers with CNPJ in the direct sale modality: from R$ 149.990 to R$ 127.490, a reduction of 15%. The value leaves the Yaris Cross only R$ 7.500 above the Jeep Avenger Altitude, priced at R$ 119.990 and launched a few weeks ago.

In the other configurations, the table looked like this: the XRE 1.5 Flex went from R$ 161.390 to R$ 149.990; the XRX 1.5 Flex, from R$ 178.990 to R$ 159.990; the XRE Hybrid Flex, from R$ 172.390 to R$ 159.990; and the XRX Hybrid Flex, from R$ 189.990 to R$ 169.990.

Hybrid now costs the same as combustion

The price rearrangement changes the internal logic of the range. The XRE Hybrid, the gateway to the electrified line, now costs the same R$ 159.990 as the combustion XRX — and equals the starting price of the Omoda 5 in the country.

The XRX Hybrid, the top of the line, had the highest discount among the retail versions, of R$ 20 thousand, and moves away from the range occupied by medium SUVs in their entry configurations, such as the Jeep Compass and the Toyota Corolla Cross, which is also on sale.

The condition does not represent a definitive change in the table, but a campaign with a deadline, something infrequent in Toyota’s commercial strategy, more accustomed to zero-rate financing and bonuses in the exchange of the used one. The brand adopted a similar movement in SW4, Hilux and Corolla Cross. In direct sales to CNPJ, the XR warranty is limited to 60 months or 100 thousand kilometers, whichever comes first.

Sales are ahead of the WR-V in the year

Produced in Sorocaba (SP), the Yaris Cross accumulates 25,083 registrations from January to August. The performance puts it ahead of the Honda WR-V, with 24,151 units, but still far from the category leader, the Volkswagen T-Cross, which registered 61,392 registrations in the period.

The SUV is offered with two engines. The XR, XRE and XRX versions use the 1.5 flex aspirated engine with direct injection, with 122 hp and 15,3 kgfm with ethanol. The hybrids combine a 1.5 flex Atkinson cycle engine, with 91 hp and 12,3 kgfm, with two electric motors of 80 hp and 14,4 kgfm, powered by a 0,76 kWh lithium-ion battery. The combined power is 111 hp; the total torque is not informed by Toyota. In all versions, the transmission is CVT-type automatic, with seven-speed simulation.
