Toyota has once again offered the RAV4 plug-in hybrid in Brazil. The automaker announced this Friday (21) the arrival of the RAV4 XSE Plug-in Hybrid, the first rechargeable configuration of the new generation of the SUV in the country, for R$ 399.990.
The model had left the national catalog in January, after the previous generation had exhausted its stocks. The renewed line landed in April with only the conventional hybrid configurations S and SX, starting at R$ 317.190. With the XSE, Toyota recomposes the offer and starts selling the most powerful RAV4 in its history in the Brazilian market.
The mechanical set combines the 2.5 Dual VVT-i engine, with 189 hp and 24,2 kgfm, with three electric motors — the front, with 206 hp, and the rear, with 55 hp. The combined power reaches 329 hp, a number that, according to the manufacturer, allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and reach 180 km/h. The drive is all-wheel drive, and the driver chooses between four driving modes: Normal, ECO, EV and Sport.
Electric autonomy and recharging
The 22.7 kWh lithium-ion battery ensures up to 61 km running exclusively on electricity, according to Inmetro criteria. The system accepts recharging of up to 11 kW in alternating current, through the Type 2 connector, and up to 50 kW in fast direct current charging stations in the CCS2 standard.

What’s standard
Inside, the XSE debuts the 12.9″ multimedia center, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, accompanied by a 12.3″ digital instrument panel, head-up color display and JBL premium sound. The driving assistance package brings together a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control.
On the outside, the two-tone paint, with a black roof, and the 20-inch alloy wheels are exclusive to the plug-in configuration. The SUV enters the Toyota 10 program, which extends the warranty for up to ten years or 200 thousand km as long as periodic revisions are carried out in the authorized network, and will also be offered to fleet owners through Kinto One Fleet.
The return of the plug-in reinforces Toyota’s multi-pathway strategy, which advocates the coexistence of different technologies — hybrids, flex hybrids, plug-in, battery electric and fuel cells — instead of the direct migration to the car powered only by electricity. In June, the brand had already put on sale in the country the bZ4X, its first battery electric, for around R$ 420 thousand.
