Stellantis will reduce the production pace of Fiat Titano and Ram Dakota pickup trucks at the Córdoba plant in Argentina, just over a year after transforming the unit into a regional pickup hub. The automaker confirmed the adjustment to the Argentine press and said that the change follows the evolution of demand in the domestic and export markets.

Union sources heard by Argentina Autoblog attribute the cut to demand below that projected for the two models. The company did not detail the extent of the adjustment. According to the website A Rodar Post, the new program communicated to suppliers foresees 3 thousand Dakota and thousand Titano between September and December, against 8 thousand and 1.5 thousand initially planned.

In the year, the production of the two pickups would go from 27 thousand to about 16.5 thousand units, a drop of approximately 39%. The volumes were not confirmed by Stellantis. The line should operate in a single shift starting in September.

The Ferreyra Industrial Complex received an investment of US$ 380 million (R$ 1.95 billion) announced in 2024, which includes an engine factory for the 2.2 Multijet with 200 hp and 45.9 kgfm, with production scheduled for early 2027. Stellantis said it maintains the investment projects and classified the unit as strategic for South America.

Titano and Dakota stay away from rivals in Brazil

Brazil is the factory’s main foreign destination, and the commercial performance here helps explain the adjustment. Launched in March 2024, the Titano sold 6,223 units that year and 6,437 in 2025, according to Fenabrave. In 2026, it accumulates about 3.5 thousand until August, just over 16 thousand units in two and a half years. The Dakota, which debuted this year starting at R$ 249.990 on the same mechanical base, registers approximately 3.2 thousand units.

Until August, the Toyota Hilux exceeded 30 thousand registrations, the Ford Ranger added almost 24 thousand and the Chevrolet S10 exceeded 20 thousand. The Mitsubishi Triton registered 8.6 thousand. In 2025, the Hilux closed the year with 49,732 units, almost eight times the volume of the Titano.

Within Stellantis itself, the distance is also great. The Strada exceeds 113 thousand units in the year, the Toro reaches 38 thousand and the Ram Rampage adds up to about 16.8 thousand, more than five times the result of the Dakota, with whom it shares the showroom.

The adjustment comes amid the retraction of the Argentine industry. According to Adefa, national production fell 18% in the first seven months of 2026, and Ford announced a 17% cut in Ranger manufacturing.
