Stellantis called on Thursday (3) a recall of 7,282 vehicles of the Jeep and Ram brands in Brazil. The campaign brings together two distinct and unrelated defects: a failure in the electro-hydraulic steering pump of Jeep SUVs, which can cause fire, and a problem in the attachment of the rear seat belts of the Ram 1500 pickup. In both cases, the repair is free and takes about 30 minutes.
The Jeep group accounts for the smaller, but more serious, portion of the recall: 1,472 units of the Wrangler, manufactured between 2021 and 2025, and the Gladiator Rubicon, from 2022 to 2025. According to the automaker, the possibility of failure in the electrical circuit of the electro-hydraulic steering pump, a component that will be replaced at dealerships, was identified. The company says that, in extreme cases, the defect can generate a fire outbreak, with the risk of material damage, injuries and even death of occupants or third parties near the vehicle.

RAM 1500 rear belts concentrate the largest volume
RAM recalls 5,810 units of the 1500 pickup produced between 2021 and 2026 — more than four-fifths of the campaign’s total. The problem lies in the rear seat belt attachment system, which may not lock correctly under certain conditions of use. According to Stellantis, the failure compromises the retention of occupants in severe braking or collisions. The service consists of checking and adjusting the locking, with replacement of the part when necessary.

How to know if your car is on the list
Identification is made by the last eight digits of the chassis, in non-sequential ranges — that is, being within the range does not necessarily mean that the vehicle has been affected. In the Wrangler, the numbers range from MW539580 to SW500071; in the Gladiator Rubicon, from NL127704 to SL502236; and in the RAM 1500, from MN542089 to T4190489. The complete code, of 17 characters, appears on the CRLV and also at the base of the windshield, on the driver’s side, and on the door column.

According to the Consumer Protection Code, recall campaigns have no expiration date or cost to the owner, even in vehicles out of warranty.
