Ram’s work pickup gets R$ 11.330 ‘all black’ package in the US

Package exchanges chrome for darkened parts on the 3500, 4500 and 5500 models and costs up to $2,195, without mechanical change

In Brazil, a work pickup usually means the opposite of decoration: the Fiat Strada Endurance and the Volkswagen Saveiro Robust, for example, arrive at the customer with steel wheels, unpainted bumpers and vinyl flooring, because each cosmetic item that comes out is money that remains. In the United States, Ram has just made the opposite move — and charges for it.

The brand launched the Night Edition package for the Chassis Cab 2027 line, its commercial cab-chassis pickup, the one that leaves the factory without a bucket to receive a tipper, platform, winch or service body at the implementer. The set is purely aesthetic: it swaps the chrome elements for darkened parts and costs up to US$ 2.195, about R$ 11.330.

The rarity is not in the look, but in the public. Buyers of commercial vehicles almost never receive appearance packages, and the aftermarket ignores them as well. According to Ram’s global president, Matt VanDyke, these customers work with the trucks at capacity every day — an argument that the brand uses to justify giving them the same cosmetic treatment already available on the Ram 1500. The public debut will be at the 2026 Farm Progress Show, an agricultural fair in Boone, Iowa.

What changes in each version

The package is available in the 3500, 4500 and 5500 models, with a single or double cab, in Big Horn and Laramie configurations. In the Big Horn, black painted wheels, darkened emblems, glossy black grille air intakes and Sport Performance hood enter. Grille frame, front bumper, fender flares and door handles are now painted in body color, and front and rear parking sensors are included.

Laramie already comes standard with body-colored sensors and components, so the package is limited to the blacked-out wheels, black badges, glossy black grille intakes and fins and Sport Performance hood. That’s why it’s cheaper: US$ 1.695, or something around R$ 8.750. At Big Horn, US$ 2.195 is valid for those who choose the Level 1 or Level 2 equipment packages.

Intact mechanics

Nothing changes under the
hood. The Hemi V8 6.4, with 380 hp and 59,2 kgfm, always with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the Cummins 6.7 six-cylinder turbodiesel in line, which delivers 365 hp and 110,6 kgfm — a number of torque that explains why these pickups tow what they tow.

Orders start in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the first units are expected to be delivered later this year. The Chassis Cab line is not sold in Brazil.
