Nissan has registered with the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) the drawings of the N7, a large electric sedan sold in China and already spotted in street tests in Brazil with light camouflage. The registration is the formal step that usually precedes the commercial launch of an imported model.
Produced by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture , the N7 is 4.93 m long, 1.89 m wide, 1.49 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.91 m — longer than a Tesla Model 3 and its smaller brother N6. In Brazil, it would face the BYD Seal.
Front-wheel drive is in the five Chinese versions. The entry uses a 58 kWh LFP battery and a 218 hp motor, with 510 km to 540 km in the CLTC cycle. The most expensive ones bring 73 kWh and 272 hp, with up to 635 km and 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The weight reaches 1.863 kg.
The N7’s trump card is the electronic package. The multimedia center is 15,6″ and runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chips in the entry-level versions and 8295 in the top-of-the-line. Level 2+ assisted driving is provided by Momenta, with autonomous highway navigation and automatic parking. There is even a built-in refrigerator.
In China, the range goes from 119,900 to 149,900 yuan. At today’s pure exchange rate, this would give R$ 91 thousand to R$ 114 thousand – a number that is not sustainable, because it does not consider import tax, IPI, ICMS, freight and margin.
AutoPapo projects an entry-level Nissan N7 for around R$ 220 thousand, with a top-of-the-line version close to R$ 276 thousand.
