Nismo, Nissan’s performance division, has commissioned four grillz — the decorative dental covers associated with hip-hop culture — inspired by the Japanese brand’s street and competition cars from a London jeweler. The pieces are unique, will not be sold and will be on display in the British capital before the final of the Formula E World Championship, scheduled for August 15 and 16.
The partnership is with LOUD MOUTH LDN, a bespoke grillz specialist studio based in Peckham, South London, which works with silver and gold. The four designs were developed with the participation of Nismo, and each one starts from a specific detail of a Nissan car.

The first is blue and reproduces the front grille of the Skyline GT-R R34, including the black appliqués and amber dots that take the place of the car’s turn signals. Next to it is a red piece, based on the front end of the Nissan Z GT500 competition.
The other two refer to different moments in the brand’s sports history. One reproduces the yellow of the Pennzoil Nismo GT-R, the Skyline GT-R R34 that dominated the GT500 category of the Japanese JGTC championship in 1999 with Érik Comas and Satoshi Motoyama. The other combines silver, white and red, in the colors of the e-4ORCE 05, with which Nissan competes in the current Formula E season.

No parts will be for sale
According to the companies, the collection is made up of unique specimens, with no forecast for commercialization. The grillz will be on display at a Westfield mall in east London in the days leading up to the race. Anyone who visits the show competes for a personalized piece produced by the jewelry store.
Why Formula E
The final of the ‘Formula 1 of electric cars’ will be held at ExCeL London, at the Royal Victoria Dock, and ends the 12th season of the championship – the last of the Gen3 generation of cars and the farewell of the category of the London complex, which leaves the calendar from 2027. Nine drivers still have mathematical chances of the title.
Nissan arrives at the weekend as the team of the current champion, the British Oliver Rowland, who forms a duo with the Frenchman Norman Nato. The manufacturer was the first Japanese manufacturer to enter Formula E, in 2018, and won the drivers’ title last season.
For Reece Garcia, founder and director of LOUD MOUTH LDN, the project required changing the starting point of the studio. Instead of starting with letters or logos, the team “looked at the shapes and details of the cars” and translated them into jewelry. He describes the grillz as one of the few accessories built entirely around each person.
