BMW opened this Monday (27) the pre-sale of the iX3 in Brazil for R$ 582.950. The new generation of the X3 debuts as more than a new electric SUV: it is the first model of Neue Klasse, the platform that, according to the automaker, will define more than 40 launches and updates of the brand in the world by 2027.
The Brazilian version will be the 50 xDrive, with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. There are 469 hp and 65,8 kgfm, which yields acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,9 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h. Production is at the new BMW Group plant in Debrecen, Hungary.
570 km of range

This is the number that BMW wants you to keep: up to 570 km of autonomy in the PBEV/Inmetro cycle. According to the manufacturer, it is the longest autonomy among the electric vehicles sold today in Brazil. The battery has 108.7 kWh useful, uses cylindrical cells and is now part of the body structure, which increases rigidity and frees up internal space.
Recharging is the other trump card. With an 800-volt architecture, the iX3 accepts up to 400 kW in direct current. Under ideal conditions, BMW says that ten minutes of plugging recovers up to 372 km – a number measured in the WLTP cycle, more optimistic than the Brazilian one. From 10% to 80%, it takes about 21 minutes.
The dashboard became an entire windshield

The iX3 debuts the BMW Panoramic iDrive. Its highlight is Panoramic Vision, which projects information along the entire base of the windshield, from one column to another: driving data is in the driver’s field of vision and the rest of the strip can be customized. Even so, BMW kept physical controls for essential functions such as turn signals, wipers and volume.
Behind this are four high-performance computers, dubbed “superbrains.” One of them, the Heart of Joy, takes care of engines, brakes, regeneration and steering, and processes data up to ten times faster than conventional centers. It is what makes up to 98% of day-to-day braking happen only by regeneration, without applying the brakes.
Space, equipment and recycling
With 4.78 m long, 1.89 m wide and 1.63 m high, the SUV has a trunk of 520 liters — 1,750 liters with the seats folded down — and another 58 liters under the hood. In Brazil, it will always come with an M Sport package, 21-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof and 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound.
BMW also claims that about a third of the vehicle is made with secondary raw materials and that the life cycle carbon footprint is 34% lower than that of the previous generation. There are eight body colors and four interior finishes.
