BMW has unveiled the most comprehensive update ever applied to the 7 Series, incorporating the design language of the Neue Klasse line to raise the technological level of the sedan. The model, which remains available in electric variants — under the name i7 — and plug-in hybrid (PHEV), has received improvements aimed at consolidating its competitiveness against rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and EQS.

The initial launch will be focused on the all-electric version, followed by the hybrid configuration. In the European market, the expectation is for an increase in the entry price, currently set at around R$ 707 thousand in direct conversion.

The most significant evolutions appear in the i7, which now uses a 112.5 kWh battery. With the new energy density, the maximum range jumped from 623 km to 727 km. Recharging efficiency has also been improved, now supporting up to 250 kW. All electric versions have all-wheel drive, with delivery ranging from 449 hp in the 50 xDrive version to a plentiful 671 hp in the M70 xDrive, which accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

For plug-in hybrid options, the inline six-cylinder petrol engine received new turbochargers. In the 750e xDrive, the set delivers 482 hp and 71,4 kgfm, while the M760e xDrive reaches 604 hp and 81,6 kgfm. The 18.7 kWh battery ensures an electric range of up to 80 km.

Although the exterior design has received subtle adjustments, such as tapered headlights and grille with horizontal bars, it is in the cabin that the transformation stands out. The 7 Series debuts the “iDrive” system with a 43.3-inch panoramic display that crosses the dashboard, as well as an exclusive 14.6-inch screen for the front passenger.

Rear comfort remains a priority, retaining the 31.3-inch Theatre Screen with 8K resolution and the 35-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system. The luxury package is completed by self-driving doors and adaptive suspension as standard on all versions.
