Motorcycle hangs from traffic light after bizarre collision with BMW

An accident that occurred last Saturday (9) in North Delta, Canada, drew attention for its unusual dynamics. After colliding with a BMW 3 Series, a Suzuki GSX-R1000R motorcycle was thrown and got stuck in the structure of a traffic light, more than 10 meters from the ground. The scene, captured in images circulating on social networks, shocked the world for its unusual coincidence.

The dynamics of the collision

The impact happened when the driver of the BMW was making a left turn to access a shopping center. According to information from local authorities, the initial suspicion is that the motorcycle was traveling at high speed, which would have made it difficult for both drivers to detour from it.

Preliminary analysis of the damage suggests that the front of the BMW served as a kind of ramp. With the force of the crash, the Suzuki — identified as a possible 100-year limited edition of the brand — was propelled upwards, hooking the front wheel to the metal arm of the traffic signal. The movement prevented the motorcycle from hitting other vehicles, but the image of the hanging vehicle impressed those passing by.

Rescue and health status

The motorcyclist was projected against the asphalt and received emergency care. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, however, according to the police, he is not at risk of death. The driver of the car was not injured. The rescue required a joint operation between the police and the fire department for the safe removal of the motorcycle and the cleaning of the debris on the road.
