Eccentrica unveiled on Monday (10) the new V12 Roadster, a roofless version of its reimagining of the Lamborghini Diablo. The car will be exhibited to the public for the first time on August 14, at The Quail meeting, within Monterey Car Week, in California, and will have production limited to 19 units, each individually configured by the buyer.

Based in San Marino, the company debuted in the restomod business in 2024, with the Eccentrica V12 coupe. The roadster repeats the recipe of its fixed-roof brother: 5.7 V12 aspirated engine inherited from the first-series Diablo, six-speed manual transmission with exposed “H” selector and no electric assistance.

558 hp without turbo and without battery

Reworked internally by Eccentrica, the V12 received recalibration of the electronic center, new thermal management and airflow review. The declared result is 558 hp at 7.000 rpm and 61,2 kgfm at 6.500 rpm, with a maximum speed of 7.500 rpm and an estimated speed of 335 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the throttle response has become sharper and the power delivery more immediate.

Cutting the ceiling was not a simple task. The company did a dedicated aerodynamic study to control airflow around the open cabin and reinforced the structure with carbon fiber to compensate for the loss of the roof and maintain torsional rigidity. The bodywork mixes steel and composite materials, preserves the proportions of the Diablo and has gained a wider gauge. The set-up includes revised suspension geometry, semi-active shock absorbers, power steering, Brembo brakes and Pirelli Trofeo RS tires. The declared weight is 1,540 kg, with 41% of the mass on the front axle and 59% on the rear.

Project has the hand of a former technical director of Lamborghini

The development was led by Maurizio Reggiani, former technical director of Lamborghini and a central name in projects such as Murciélago, Gallardo, Aventador and Huracán. The design was in charge of the Milanese studio Borromeo De Silva. According to Eccentrica, more than 3,500 components are custom-developed for each example.

The interior combines Connolly leather, Alcantara, anodized finishes and apparent carbon fiber, without abandoning analog instruments. “The Eccentrica V12 was our opening statement. The Roadster is the next chapter: more exposed, more immediate, more demanding. Homeless. No filter. Nothing between you and the machine,” said Emanuel Colombini, founder and president of the company.

The price of the Roadster was not disclosed. The coupe hit the market in 2024 at 1.2 million euros (about R$ 7.1 million at Tuesday’s price), a figure that does not include the donor Diablo, whose purchase is the responsibility of the customer.
