Jeep chose India to celebrate its 85th anniversary with a special series of the Compass restricted to 85 units. Announced this Monday (17), the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition starts at around R$ 143 thousand (2,67 million rupees) in list price – a value that, in the Indian market, does not include registration or insurance.
The series is the Indian chapter of the brand’s global celebrations and does not bring any mechanical changes. All the differentiation focuses on finishing, equipment and a package of accessories created for the date. Exclusivity, by the way, is the main selling point: there are 85 cars for a country of 1.4 billion inhabitants.
What changes in the commemorative edition
On the outside, the SUV receives 18″ wheels in glossy black and commemorative emblems, maintaining the classic seven-slot grille and LED lighting. In the cabin, the finish is all dark, with Mayan Gold appliqués and contrasting details that separate the limited series from the line versions.

The equipment list gains the AXS customization package, assembled especially for the occasion. It adds a digital interior rearview mirror, front and rear recording cameras to record traffic occurrences and ambient lighting, including on the SkyLounge panoramic sunroof frame. As Jeep itself acknowledges, they are accessory additions, without changing the vehicle’s architecture or the dashboard structure.
The diesel engine that Brazilians can no longer buy
Under the hood is the well-known 2.0 turbodiesel Multijet II, four-cylinder, with 170 hp and 35,7 kgfm of torque. The transmission can be a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic, and the 4×4 traction appears only in the most complete configurations.

This is precisely where the Indian Compass distances itself from the Brazilian one. In the 2026 lineup, the SUV sold here said goodbye to the 2.0 diesel TD350 and was restricted to the 1.3 turbo flex and the 2.0 Hurricane gasoline, under the justification that the oil versions accounted for a minimal share of sales. There is also a difference in origin and price: the national Compass is produced in Goiana (PE) and starts at R$ 169,990 in the Sport version — above, therefore, what Jeep charges for the Indian commemorative series, assembled in Ranjangaon, on the outskirts of Pune.
“The Compass has always been central to Jeep’s history in India,” Kumar Priyesh, business director of Stellantis India’s automotive brands, said in a statement. According to him, the limited edition gives the model a new expression and was designed for customers looking for a more personal, intelligent and exclusive Compass.
Sold in India since 2017, the Compass remains one of Jeep’s most important products there, in a segment of premium medium SUVs that faces increasing pressure from local rivals. Reservations for the commemorative series are already open at authorized dealerships and in the brand’s online sales channel.
