Jeep Compass 2027 debuts soon with new mild hybrid system — see estimated consumption

The Jeep Compass 2027 is expected to debut in the coming weeks with a 48-volt mild hybrid system (MHEV) in three versions — Sport, Longitude and S Series — according to an investigation by the Autos Segredos website. The technology is the same already adopted by the Renegade and Commander brothers and by their cousin Fiat Toro, all from Stellantis.

The set will combine the 1.3 turbo flex engine of the T270 line with an electric motor that delivers 15.5 hp of power and 6.6 kgfm of torque, activated to assist the combustion engine in specific situations, with a focus on reducing consumption and pollutant emissions.

The 1.3 turbo flex maintains 176 hp and 27,5 kgfm, both with ethanol and gasoline, associated with a six-speed automatic transmission. Power had been reduced from 185 hp to 176 hp to meet the rules of the Proconve L8 program, and the 48-volt system should help smooth out the delay in throttle responses caused by this change.

There are still no official consumption figures for the MHEV version. In the 2027 Renegade, which uses the same system, however, Jeep reports a reduction of up to 7% in fuel consumption (in the city) and up to 8% in CO₂ emissions. Applying this 7% gain to the Inmetro indexes of the current Compass 1.3 in the city – 12 km/l with gasoline and 8.6 km/l with ethanol – the mild hybrid could reach, in theory, about 12.8 km/l with gasoline and 9.2 km/l with ethanol on the highway.

The look should not change, as Jeep prepares a new generation of the Compass for Brazil in 2028. In terms of safety, the Sport version would not bring driving assistance items (ADAS) as standard, which would remain restricted to the optional Tech II package.

In addition to the three mild hybrid configurations, the Compass 2027 should maintain the BlackHawk version, equipped with the 2.0 turbo flex Hurricane engine, 4×4 traction and nine-speed automatic transmission. Jeep has not yet confirmed launch dates or prices.
