GWM presented in China two new configurations for the ORA 5: the GT and Sport versions. The additions bet on sporty visual appeal and exclusive finishes, but the Chinese manufacturer has not confirmed changes in the engine or adjustments to running dynamics. The announcement comes weeks after the electric SUV debuted in Brazil, where it is sold for R$ 159.900 and already has national production confirmed.
So far, GWM has only released official images of the two packages. The automaker also did not say whether the versions will be offered to the hybrid and combustion variants of the ORA 5, sold in the Chinese market.
Sport is discreet; GT gets aerodynamic kit

The Sport variant brings more sober changes. Among the elements of the package are the two-tone painted body — with the roof in white —, larger-diameter alloy wheels, brake calipers painted in red and a LiDAR sensor accommodated in the upper part of the roof. The component is now restricted to purely electric versions sold in China and signals a more advanced package of driving assistance, anchored in the brand’s own Coffee Pilot 3 system.
The GT configuration adopts a more aggressive aesthetic language. The set includes a front splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler, with red accents on the headlights, wheels, brake calipers and aerodynamic parts. The electrical identity of the unit displayed is only perceived by the charging hatch installed on the front fender — which opens up the possibility of the version succeeding the old Ora 03 GT in the Chinese lineup.

Unchanged mechanics and factory in Espírito Santo
Despite the bold visual proposal, GWM kept a low profile about the mechanical content. There is no record of power increment, suspension revision or performance calibrations, which suggests restricted changes to the design.
In China, the ORA 5 is sold in electric configurations, with a 204 hp front motor and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries of 45.3 kWh and 58.3 kWh, good for 480 km and 580 km in the CLTC cycle, and also in hybrid and combustion versions — the latter with the 1.5 turbo of 184 hp. The line starts at 69,800 yuan, about R$ 53 thousand, and the prices of the two new packages have not been announced.

In Brazil, the ORA 5 arrived in June in a single version, for R$ 159.900. The electric SUV uses the same 204 hp and 26,5 kgfm motor, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,7 seconds and has a top speed electronically limited to 160 km/h. The 58,3 kWh battery yields a range of up to 349 km through the Inmetro cycle and accepts direct current recharging of up to 120 kW, which allows you to go from 20% to 80% of the charge in 20 minutes, according to the manufacturer.
The national production was confirmed for the brand’s second factory in the country, in Aracruz, Espírito Santo. The plant will receive R$ 4.6 billion in the first stage, within the R$ 10 billion plan announced for Brazil, and will be born multi-energy, capable of assembling electric, hybrid and combustion models on the same line.
The capacity will reach 200 thousand units per year – four times that of the Iracemápolis (SP) unit, where Haval H6, Haval H9 and Poer P30 leave – but the operation will only start in 2029. For now, GT and Sport appear only in Chinese material, and GWM has not said whether the two configurations will be exported.
