SUV with less than four meters had a design registered in India and should arrive in Brazil in the coming years with turbo engine
The project of Renault’s unprecedented urban SUV, anticipated by the Bridger concept, has taken a decisive step towards the assembly line. Industrial drawings of the model have just been filed in India, revealing the definitive shapes of the compact SUV. The vehicle will be built on the RGMP (Renault Group Modular Platform) modular platform, the same architecture that serves as the basis for the Kardian produced in Brazil, evidencing its global vocation and the high chances of landing in the domestic market in the coming years.

A peculiar detail of the Indian bureaucratic process is that the images were cataloged under the category of “Games and Toys”. In practice, this indicates that the official sketches refer to a scale miniature of the automobile. Still, the proportions and creases confirm that the production model will maintain aesthetic fidelity to the prototype unveiled in March this year.

The Bridger bets on a robust visual appeal, with styling often nicknamed “little box”. The body boasts straight lines, flared fenders and diagonal LED tapered light signatures. To accentuate the adventurous vocation, the French manufacturer positioned the spare tire on the outside, fixed directly to the trunk lid, an aesthetic feature with a strong nostalgic appeal. The rear door handles, camouflaged in the C-pillar, give a cleaner profile to the side. Despite the jeep look, the model will only have front-wheel drive, giving up the 4×4 system.

Named in allusion to those who “make the bridge”, the SUV will have the mission of connecting new consumers to the brand’s portfolio, positioning itself between the entry-level vehicles and the new generation of the Duster. With a world launch scheduled for the second half of 2027 in India, the vehicle will measure less than four meters in length, a strategic dimension to obtain tax exemptions in the Asian country. Even compact, the engineering promises a trunk in the range of 400 liters.
The versatility of the RGMP platform will allow for a wide range of thrusters. On the international market, 1.2 aspirated versions, hybrids and even a purely electric variant are planned. In a future domestic market, the trend is for the Bridger to share the mechanics of the Kardian, driven by the 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine, which yields 125 hp and 22,4 kgfm, associated with the automated dual-clutch transmission.
