The brand's commercial vehicle division has already developed more than 200 special projects in partnership with modifiers in South America
Ford has already developed more than 200 special projects through the Ford Pro division, focused on areas such as health, police, rescue, mining, firefighters and professional services. The adaptations use models such as the Ford Ranger, Ford Transit and Ford Territory. According to the brand, about half of commercial customers request some type of modification to the vehicles. To this end, Ford maintains its own engineering structure and partnership with more than 40 modifiers registered in South America.

Part of these projects was presented at LAAD, the largest defense and security fair in Latin America. Among the vehicles exhibited were special versions of the Ford Ranger configured as an ambulance and Federal Highway Police vehicle, as well as a Ford Transit for transporting the Criminal Police and two Ford Territory units adapted for patrolling and Civil Police operations.
The Ranger Ambulance, based on the XL Chassis Cabin version, was prepared for operations in hard-to-reach areas, with 4×4 traction, raised suspension and integrated medical equipment. The Ranger of the Federal Highway Police received structural reinforcements, emergency lighting and monitoring systems.
The Ford Transit adapted for the Criminal Police transports up to eight inmates and has night vision cameras, intercoms and thermoacoustic insulation. The Civil Police’s Ford Territory gained an air-conditioned cell, siren and push bumper, with emphasis on the large internal space for operational use.
