Peugeot started to offer discounts of up to R$ 50.2 thousand and financing with no down payment for taxi drivers and app drivers who buy the 208 and 2008 models. The conditions are part of Move Brasil, a federal government program aimed at those who use the car as an essential work tool.
The most significant rebates go to taxi drivers entitled to ICMS and IPI exemption. In this group, the Peugeot 208 Active drops from R$ 115.550 to R$ 88.990, while the 2008 Active goes from R$ 153.990 to R$ 103.790 — a reduction of R$ 50.200, the largest in the package. The combination of the two tax benefits is what allows you to reach this discount level.
Tax-exempt taxi drivers and app drivers have access to another line of offers. For them, the brand offers financing with no down payment, a rate of 0.99% per month, a six-month grace period for the start of payments and a term of up to 72 installments. The Peugeot 2008 Allure T200 AT version can receive a discount of up to R$ 35 thousand.
The operations are conducted by Banco Stellantis, an institution accredited by BNDES to operationalize the financing of the program in both categories.
Created by the federal government, Move Brasil Taxi and Apps finances the purchase of new cars of up to R$ 150 thousand. To participate, app drivers must have been active for at least 12 months and have made at least 100 rides in the period on the same platform.
Taxi drivers, on the other hand, must keep licenses and records up to date with the traffic agencies, in addition to tax regularity. The initiative seeks to facilitate the renewal of the fleet of professionals who depend on the vehicle to generate income, offering credit with facilitated conditions through banks accredited by BNDES. The ceiling of R$ 150 thousand fits precisely the range in which the cars most sought after by this public are concentrated.
The 208 and 2008 are among Peugeot’s highest volume models in Brazil – a compact hatch and an entry-level SUV, respectively – profiles that usually attract those who drive many kilometers a day and need to balance acquisition cost, consumption and maintenance. Not by chance, they are the two cars chosen by the brand for the action.
The offers are valid for the duration of the program and can be consulted throughout the Peugeot dealership network in the country, in addition to the brand’s official direct sales website.
