General Motors has confirmed the end of the Chevrolet Equinox EV line in Brazil. According to the Autos Segredos website, the last units of the 100% electric SUV have been sold and, for now, there is no forecast for importing a new batch — which ends, at least for now, the model’s trajectory in the country less than two years after its launch.
In a note, the automaker said that its strategy for electric vehicles starts to prioritize other models in the portfolio. According to GM, Chevrolet “has been leading the electric SUV segment” in Brazil, with the Spark EUV among the entry-level compacts, the Captiva EV among the medium ones — both already nationalized — and the Blazer EV in the large and premium range. The company says that the change follows the evolution of the demand for more affordable vehicles and the preferences of the Brazilian consumer.

The implicit reading is that the Equinox EV, imported and with premium positioning, did not find space. Launched in October 2024 with a suggested price of R$ 419.990, the SUV soon rose to R$ 441.190. In August 2025, faced with sales much lower than expected, Chevrolet made a cut of R$ 90.200 – one of the highest in the category – and the model started to cost R$ 349.990, a value maintained until the last units.
The numbers help explain the decision. By that moment in 2025, the Equinox EV had registered only 28 units, according to the Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE). Before the discount, the electric car cost more than the Blazer EV itself, which compromised its attractiveness in a segment where the buyer also weighs the brand’s status. After the promotion, however, there were no concrete changes: only 294 units of the utility vehicle were sold between August 2025 and last month.

The version offered in Brazil had two electric motors and all-wheel drive, with 292 hp of power and 46 kgfm of torque. The set accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 187 km/h. The homologated range was 443 km in the Inmetro standard, ahead of rivals such as Volvo C40 and BMW iX1.
Medium-large, the SUV measured 4.84 m in length, 1.95 m in width and 1.65 m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.95 m and a trunk of 441 liters. The standard plug included a panoramic sunroof with electric drive, two-zone digital air conditioning, driver’s seat with electric adjustments, 19″ wheels and a tailgate with electric opening.
In the technology package, the 17.7″ multimedia center with integrated Google (Google built-in) and specific navigation for electric vehicles stood out, in addition to native Wi-Fi, OnStar services and integration with the myChevrolet application. The combustion version of the Equinox, in turn, is still on sale in the country.
