CRLV 2026 starts to be charged in Minas Gerais; see how to issue it to avoid paying a fine

The inspection of the Vehicle Registration and Licensing Certificate (CRLV) 2026 began this Tuesday (1st) in Minas Gerais. Drivers who drive vehicles with license plates ending in 1, 2 and 3 are already required to present the updated document.

Although the collection has begun, more than 4.5 million vehicles still circulate in an irregular situation in the state, out of a total fleet that exceeds 13.8 million cars.

What is the fine for driving without the CRLV 2026?

Drivers who do not regularize the vehicle’s situation by the stipulated deadline commit a very serious infraction. Penalties include:

• Fine: R$ 293.47;
• Score: 7 points on the National Driver’s License (CNH);
• Administrative measure: removal of the vehicle to an accredited yard.

Important: for the 2026 CRLV to be issued, the owner needs to pay off all car debts, which includes:

• Motor Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA);
• Annual Vehicle Licensing Renewal Fee (TRLAV);
• Any overdue fines and any registration impediments.

Approximately 9.3 million drivers in Minas Gerais have already regularized the vehicle’s situation. The document can be presented digitally on the smartphone or in printed version.

If the driver is out of battery or cell phone at the time of the approach, traffic agents can carry out a direct query in the Detran/State Coordination of Traffic Management (CET-MG) system, as long as the licensing is updated in the database.

How to check vehicle pending issues?

If you don’t know if your licensing is regular, the consultation procedure is simple:

1. Access the official website of CET-MG (transito.mg.gov.br);
2. On the home page, click on “Check the vehicle’s status”;
3. If there are open debts, the system itself allows the issuance of payment slips.

Step by step: how to issue the CRLV 2026 in MG

After paying all fees, the digital document is available and can be accessed or printed through the following official channels:

• CNH do Brasil
• Application MG Application Application
• Portal of the National Traffic Secretariat (Senatran)
• CET-MG website: transito.mg.gov.br

To issue directly through the CET-MG website, simply access the “Vehicles” tab, click on the “Issue the CRLV” option and fill out the requested form. It is worth remembering that the document printed on regular A4 paper has legal validity and can be generated as many times as necessary.
