The SUV achieves the highest sales volume in a General Motors launch in the country and consolidates itself as the brand's main product in 2026
Chevrolet announced the sale of 14 thousand units of the new Sonic in a single day, establishing the highest sales volume ever achieved by the automaker in the debut of a vehicle in Brazil. The record balance was released by the manufacturer shortly after “Sonic Day”, a retail action promoted on May 20.
The marketing strategy simultaneously mobilized about 600 dealerships of the network throughout the national territory, with the aim of presenting the vehicle up close to potential buyers. As Sonic has two versions ranging from R$ 129.990 to R$ 135.990, the revenue from the action was close to R$ 2 billion.

Derived from the same architecture as the Onix, the new model arrives with the mission of competing in a high-volume category. To do this, it bets on a well-known mechanical set, designed to combine the necessary breath for road use with a fuel consumption contained in the urban environment.
The compact SUV with the main highlights is the 1.0 turbo engine with 115 hp and 18,9 kgfm, the multimedia center with advanced connectivity, the active safety package with driving assistants and the suspension adjustment adapted to the Brazilian floor.

The data provided by the automaker show that initial demand has been concentrated in the most expensive versions, with a technical tie in consumer preference. The portfolio divides its sales between the Sonic Premier option, configured as the most equipped in standard items, and the RS variant, which caters to those looking for finishes with sporty visual appeal. The promotional table remains valid, with prices of R$ 129.990 and R$ 135.990, respectively.
