Adonis Alcici, 35, perfectly blended the world of motorsport with that of contemporary art. The artist born in Itapira gained international fame by translating the sensation of speed from the tracks to the canvases of his paintings. With his first drawing sold for only R$30 reais as a teenager, Alcici today sells panels for R$180,000.

It was through his art and his talent that Alcici realized his dream of putting his own Porsche 911 Carrera S in the garage. Currently, the success of his exclusive creations generates a high demand in the premium market, resulting in a waiting list of two to three months for new projects.

Artistic evolution and the search for the adrenaline of the tracks

At the beginning of his career, shortly after entering design school in 2008, Alcici dedicated his illustrations to the hyper-realistic style, creating detailed drawings that resembled car photographs. However, as his techniques matured, he realized that he needed to go beyond the faithful copy, changing the direction of his portfolio to express the feeling of movement.

Thus, his art was consolidated with dynamic strokes, urban graphics, strong contrasts and, mainly, the use of arrows, which became his trademark signature. This static style capable of transmitting speed even caught the attention of Porsche’s global CEO, who has a work by the artist in his personal collection. On average, it takes the painter about five days of work to complete a new work of art.

Rise in motorsport and connections to the Porsche Cup

The turning point for Adonis Alcici’s national projection occurred when he started to exchange sheets of paper for large screens at the official events of the Porsche Cup Brazil. The recognition on the tracks opened the doors of the German brand’s official dealerships and projected it to the international scene in 2022.

The following year, the São Paulo native consolidated his name abroad by holding a solo show at the renowned Art Basel Miami Beach exhibition. In addition to working with the cars, Alcici maintains a solid four-year friendship with Brazilian driver Felipe Nasr, former Formula 1 and current Porsche Penske driver in the IMSA championship. The artist was also responsible for thinking and developing the design of the helmet used by the rider.

The next big step in the designer’s career will take place in June, when he will take over the artistic curatorship and co-idealization of Tempo by Porsche, a 500 m² cultural hub that the automaker will open in Jardins, in São Paulo. The space will integrate lounges, exhibition areas, a restaurant and a stage for concerts, bringing the German brand closer to the cultural scene and the São Paulo lifestyle.
