BMW Motorrad do Brasil has updated the R 1300 GS line, which now brings the Akrapovic exhaust tip as a standard item, new color options and the offer of the ASA automated transmission in more versions. Produced at the BMW Group plant in Manaus, the bike is one of the main references in the big trails segment in the country.

The most visible change is in the new color gamut. The line gains an option in red, an unprecedented configuration of the Trophy version in silver and a new shade of blue for the Option 719. Triple Black remains in the catalog without changes in graphics, in the most sober proposal of the family.

The Akrapovic tip, previously sold as an accessory, now equips the entire factory line. In addition to the aesthetic appeal, the component reinforces the sporty character of the motorcycle. The standard package also includes black spoked wheels, center stand, dynamic traction control and tire pressure monitoring.

In the field of technology, the Premium versions maintain an electronically adjustable windshield, electronic suspension with automatic height adjustment and riding assistants. The main novelty is the arrival of the ASA (Automated Shift Assistant) system in the Triple Black and Option 719 versions. Under the motto “Simplify your Ride”, the technology dispenses with the clutch lever and allows manual or fully automatic shifts, without loss of performance.

The technical sheet remains unchanged. The R 1300 GS is powered by the 1,300 cm³ two-cylinder boxer engine, which yields 145 hp at 7,750 rpm and 15,2 kgfm of torque at 6,500 rpm. According to BMW, it is the most powerful boxer engine ever produced in series by the brand.

Production remains concentrated in Manaus. Opened in 2016, the plant is the only BMW Motorrad plant dedicated exclusively to motorcycles outside Germany and accounts for around 99% of the brand’s national portfolio. A symbol of BMW since the arrival of the R 80 G/S in 1980, the GS family has built its reputation on long journeys and off-road use.

Launch prices start at R$ 115.990 in the Sport version. The Premium range costs R$ 129.990 in Trophy and R$ 131.990 in Triple Black, while the Premium ASA costs R$ 139.990 in Triple Black and R$ 145.990 in Option 719, the most expensive configuration in the line.
