The 1936 Cadillac V16, one of the most luxurious cars of its time, got a LEGO replica through the LEGO Ideas platform. Created to expand the line of models of the Icons division with a representative from the 1930s, the project reproduces the coupe version of the classic and seeks support from users to have the possibility of entering the manufacturer’s official catalog.
Launched in 1930, the Cadillac V16 was considered one of the most sophisticated and expensive automobiles of its time. During the 11 years it was produced, Cadillac manufactured just over 4,000 units of the V16 in different body configurations.

Submitted to the LEGO Ideas division in May 2025, the copy quickly reached the first 1,000 supporters, but lost pace over the months. Currently, it has 2,743 votes and needs to reach 5,000 to receive an extension of the deadline. After that, 10,000 supporters would be needed for LEGO to evaluate the possibility of turning the creation into an official product.
The model was developed with black bodywork and chrome details, as well as functional doors that give access to a beige interior with two folding seats. The steering wheel also works and can be used to move the front wheels.
Among the features and accessories of the “set”, the hood can be opened to reveal a reproduction of the V16 engine that equipped the original Cadillac. Although the replica does not fully reproduce the mechanics of the real model, the set incorporates the element that has become one of the main characteristics of the car.
