With a price "frozen" at R$ 240 thousand, Ford Maverick Tremor combines off-road features of the Bronco Sport with the comfort inherited by the late Fusion
The Ford Maverick arrived in the Brazilian market in 2022, during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic slowdown, but what shook its debut was the announcement by the North American brand to stop producing in Brazil, in January 2021. Thus, the pickup landed in an unfriendly scenario, which overshadowed its good qualities.
Its price of R$ 240 thousand did not help either. In 2022, it was far from what Fiat charged for Toro, which had prices between R$ 130 thousand and R$ 185 thousand. And that didn’t make her the perfect choice, especially because she carried a generalized dislike.

But time passed, the Toro became more expensive (today the top-of-the-line Ranch version starts at R$ 235 thousand) and the Rampage arrived to redefine the category and today operates with values ranging from R$ 230 thousand to R$ 276 thousand. And in this vein, Maverick kept the same price. In other words, competition has made it more attractive. And of course, the boastful scolding regarding the brand’s change in strategy has dissipated.

But it was a fact that Maverick was missing something. The pickup has always offered a lot of comfort on board, but lacked a more refined finish. It also lacked flashier equipment. And above all, better off-road capability.
The Tremor arrived in 2025 as a direct response to criticism about the Maverick’s limitation in more demanding terrain, positioning itself as an alternative for those looking for off-road capability without migrating to larger models.
The Maverick Tremor retains the base of the line, but adds specific features for use on trails and low-grip surfaces. In Brazil, it starts to compete for space with 4×4 versions of Fiat Toro and Ram Rampage, offering a set that prioritizes off-road performance without giving up urban comfort. Visually, the gears have a practical function, with plastic appliqués on the wheel arches, tow hooks and all-terrain tires that reinforce the body’s protection.

Under the hood, the pickup uses the 2.0 EcoBoost turbo gasoline engine, with 253 hp and 38 kgfm of torque, associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system with rear differential lock. The set brings the Maverick Tremor’s proposal closer to that of the Ford Bronco Sport, with whom it shares electronic solutions and driving modes aimed at different types of terrain.
In practice, the Maverick Tremor has consistent off-road performance. The 4×4 system acts efficiently to maintain traction on slippery surfaces, while the all-terrain tires contribute to grip on uneven surfaces. On the other hand, this type of tire raises the noise level on the asphalt, a common characteristic in vehicles with an off-road proposal. Still, the pickup preserves behavior close to that of a passenger car in urban and road use.

Inside, the version maintains the technological package of the 2026 line, with a digital instrument panel and multimedia center with an enlarged screen, compatible with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. The model also offers induction charging, on-board connectivity and comfort items such as electric seat adjustment and sunroof.
With its “stony” price of R$ 239.900, the Maverick Tremor positions itself as an alternative for those looking for an intermediate pickup with a focus on versatility. The price escalation of competitors such as Ram Rampage and Fiat Toro made life easier for the Ford dealership.
