The new car market continues to grow, sales in May were 14.42% higher than in April. Leading the ranking is the Volkswagen Polo, the best-selling passenger car in Brazil.

The hatch produced in Taubaté (SP) sold 10,523 units in May, a volume higher than the previous month. In second place is the T-Cross, the best-selling SUV in Brazil and which sold 9,455 units.

In third place in the ranking of the best-selling cars in Brazil is the Hyundai HB20, followed by the Fiat Argo and the Chevrolet Onix. The BYD Dolphin Mini is in sixth position and firmly holds the position of the most popular electric car.

The best-selling hybrid car was the BYD Song, but Fenabrave joins the Plus and Pro models as just one. Separating them, the post ends up being the GWM Haval H6, which here appears in 19th.

In the top 10 of the best-selling cars in Brazil we have four Volkswagen models. In addition to the Polo and T-Cross, the Tera and Nivus are also on the list.

The Geely EX2 still faces a bottleneck in sales, consumer demand is greater than the brand’s import capacity. In May, it achieved its highest sales volume, with 4,321 units licensed, thanks to the arrival of two batches in the period. The national production has been confirmed and should solve this.

Who debuted well in May was the Chevrolet Sonic, which sold 2,778 cars in the first month of sales. In the coming months we will see if the trend will be growing, as it was with rival Tera.

Another Chinese car from a rookie brand that is doing well is the Omoda 5, which was in 39th position. Cousin Jaecoo 7 is in 42nd. The GAC, MG and Leapmotor brands, on the other hand, do not even appear in the top 50 of sales.
