SEE ALSO:

1. Ronin

  • Where to watch: MGM+ or Amazon Prime Video with MGM+ package

The action thriller Ronin is a movie made by car lover, director John Frankenheimer. The plot is simple, revolving around a group of mercenaries who need to steal a briefcase.

The chase scenes were done in a practical way, with stuntmen driving the cars at high speed through French streets and roads. The automotive cast is also top-notch, with Audi S8, Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9, BMW 535i, Citroën XM, Peugeot 605 and Renault Safrane.

2. 60 Seconds

  • Where to watch: Disney+

The movie 60 Seconds is a remake of a 1974 film, which in turn was almost an advertisement for a stuntman. The modern version stars Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Robert Duvall, and other famous Hollywood names.

Protagonist Randall “Memphis” Raines needs to steal 50 cars on a tight deadline. Most of the action scenes were done in a practical way, including the long chase with a Shelby GT500 Mustang modified by Chip Foose.

3. Mad Max: Fury Road

  • Where to watch: HBO Max

We could put all the Mad Max movies here, but to indicate just one we will stay in the 2015 sequel. Fury Road is a great chase that lasts two hours and marked the film industry for using little computer graphics.

If you want all the Mad Max, they are available on HBO Max along with the most recent.

4. Maximum Speed

  • Where to watch: Disney+

Speed is one of those movies that played so much in the Afternoon Session that many don’t give it due value. It has several clichés of action movies, but it is also a well-made production.

The scenes were actually shot with a speeding bus, including the jump. The sequel deserves negative fame, we don’t recommend revisiting it.

5. Baby Driver

  • Where to watch: HBO Max

Baby Driver is classified as an action movie but can pass for a musical. And who dances in this case are the cars, the scenes were choreographed to match the soundtrack.

This film was a success when it was released in 2017 for bringing a dose of originality to the cinema saturated by franchises. And it doesn’t just appeal to enthusiasts wanting to see cars.
