Yamaha announced the arrival of the ZR Hybrid Connected to the Brazilian market, a model that follows the brand’s electrification scheme with a mild hybrid proposal, but at a much more affordable price than the first of its kind here in the country. Light and practical, the Japanese promises modernity, performance and confidence for the streets.

  • The Yamaha ZR Hybrid Connected has a suggested price of R$ 13.990 (without shipping).

The Yamaha ZR Hybrid Connected is the second electrified motorcycle brought by the brand of the three tuning forks to Brazil. Before it, Neo’s Connected arrived as the first electric scooter from a large Japanese company, in early 2025.

Also electrified, it is another “mild hybrid” motorcycle. Unlike a full hybrid, the ZR uses an electric assistance system coupled to the combustion engine. The set features a 125 cm³ Blue Core Hybrid engine, with 8,2 hp and 1,0 kgfm, combined with an auxiliary electric motor. The so-called Power Assist comes into action for a few seconds in situations such as starts and resumes, offering punctual gain in strength and, according to the manufacturer, helping with energy efficiency.

Another feature present is the Stop & Start system, which turns off the engine at stops — such as traffic lights — and automatically restarts it when accelerating. The solution, already widespread in automobiles, is also starting to become more common in low-engine scooters.

In the technological package, the ZR Hybrid Connected bets on connectivity via application, with smartphone integration to display calls, messages and usage data on the digital panel. The model also allows performance monitoring and route recording.

Visually, the scooter follows a sportier proposal, with LED lighting and elements inspired by larger motorcycles. Among the highlights are the front light signature in the shape of a “Y” and the smoked windshield.

With 98 kg in running order, Yamaha claims that the ZR is the lightest in the category. The low weight, in theory, favors agility in urban use, the main focus of the model. The chassis includes disc brakes at the front, drum at the rear and UBS system, which distributes braking between the wheels.

  • Produced in Manaus (AM), the ZR Hybrid Connected hits stores from May 2026. The model will be offered with a four-year warranty and fixed-price revisions.
