The KTM 390 Adventure arrives in Brazil in two versions, with suggested prices of R$ 33.990 for the 390 Adventure X and R$ 37.990 for the 390 Adventure R. The two motorcycles arrive at dealerships in October and mark the first launch of the Austrian brand under the management of Bajaj do Brasil, which took over KTM’s operation in the country.
The two models will be assembled at the Manaus (AM) plant from components from India, where the 390 line is produced under the global partnership between KTM and Bajaj. The national production follows the plan to expand the dealership network, which currently consists of 12 locations in the country.

Same mechanics, two vocations
The two trail bikes share the 398.7 cm³ liquid-cooled LC4c single-cylinder, which yields 45 hp of power and 3.97 kgfm of torque. The engine works with a six-speed gearbox, assist and slipper clutch and bidirectional quickshifter as standard. The tank takes 14 liters and has a design designed for riding standing up, while the stainless steel exhaust gives up the rear muffler, in a solution inspired by the 390 Enduro R.
The 390 Adventure X is the gateway to the line and has been calibrated for urban use, asphalt travel and less demanding dirt tracks. It features 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and 17 inches at the rear, with mixed-use tires, in addition to WP APEX suspensions with more contained travel — the front is not adjustable and the rear only allows preload adjustment. The seat is 82.5 cm from the ground, the dashboard is a 5-inch LCD and the riding modes are two: Street and Offroad.

The 390 Adventure R bets on the trail. The spoked wheels measure 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, the WP APEX front suspension gains compression and rebound adjustments, and the rear shock absorber allows you to regulate preload and rebound. The ground clearance is 27.2 cm and the seat height rises to 87 cm — 4.5 cm above the X, a difference that weighs in the choice of smaller riders. The panel becomes a 5-inch color TFT, and the electronics add Rain mode to the two already available in the entry-level version.
Electronics are the same in both
Regardless of the version, the electronic package features ride-by-wire throttle, Cornering ABS and tilt-sensitive traction control, with calibrated actuation according to the selected riding mode. ABS also has a specific function for off-road use.
Both motorcycles accept top cases and side bags. Cruise control and heated grips are left out of the standard package and are part of the list of accessories, sold separately. KTM informs that the arrival of the 390 Adventure opens a sequence of launches planned for the Brazilian market under the new management.
