With a sporty look and handle on the roof, the new MG 07 features an electric version of up to 650 km and a plug-in hybrid that runs 185 km on electricity alone
MG is preparing the launch of the MG 07, a new electrified fastback sedan that has just been included in the Chinese tax exemption catalog for new energy vehicles. With the specifications already registered with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the model will hit the market in 100% electric and plug-in hybrid versions and represents a relevant platform expansion for the manufacturer. Prices have not yet been confirmed, but the brand targets the range that, in the current conversion, is equivalent to about R$ 113 thousand to R$ 150 thousand (from 150 thousand to 200 thousand yuan).
The 100% electric variant uses a 67 kWh battery associated with a 239 hp rear motor, with a homologated range of up to 650 km — or 610 km, in another configuration — by the CLTC cycle. The plug-in hybrid version, on the other hand, combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a 207 hp electric powertrain and a 30 kWh battery, which allows you to travel up to 185 km on electricity alone by the WLTC standard.

One of the technological highlights of the MG 07 is in the intelligent driving set. The brand’s first model to adopt the Momenta R7 platform, it features a lidar sensor installed on the roof and the X7 chip, dedicated to processing driver assistance functions. The system is based on a “world model” architecture capable of analyzing environmental variables in real time to refine decision-making while driving. With the package, the brand tries to offer an alternative to the autonomous driving systems of international rivals.
In the look, the model bets on a fastback silhouette with fluid lines and sporty character. The rear features a smooth roof trim, integrated with a wide panoramic glass surface and interconnected strip taillights, while the front features the brand’s light signature, with “C” shaped headlights, and a horizontal air intake that runs the entire width of the vehicle.
The design also incorporates semi-hidden door handles, exclusive wheels and the new Morello Purple shade, developed to highlight the elongated profile and the more sophisticated proposal of the model.
The MG 07 comes amid the brand’s recovery in China. In May 2026, MG registered 17,570 units in the wholesale market of the local market, a volume 12% higher than in April and which continues the recovery started after the floor of 7,017 cars in February.
