A year after its debut, Volkswagen's entry-level SUV returns to R$ 99.990 in the VolksVale+ campaign; Offer Demands Used in Exchange
Volkswagen has returned to selling the Tera at the launch price, R$ 99.990, in an attempt to reheat sales of the entry-level SUV a year after its debut in Brazil. With the value, the utility is cheaper than the Polo under certain conditions — but there is a catch: the discount is only guaranteed for those who deliver a used car in the exchange.
The offer is part of the VolksVale+ campaign, which mobilized the entire dealership network last Saturday (20), with stores in extended hours. The maneuver tries to reverse the slowdown caused by successive readjustments that, over twelve months, made the model more expensive by R$ 7.200 compared to the value of the debut. To facilitate access, the automaker offers financing in up to 48 months, a condition that helps to dilute the impact of the down payment for those who arrive at the store with a used one.

The Tera competes in one of the most competitive segments in the country, with an eye on rivals such as the Fiat Pulse Drive and the house’s own Polo Track. The equipped version of the Polo, with the VW Play multimedia center and metallic paint, costs R$ 100.280 — above the SUV on sale. The two models leave the same factory, in Taubaté (SP), and share the 1.0-liter aspirated three-cylinder engine, which yields 84 hp with ethanol and 77 hp with gasoline, always with a five-speed manual transmission.
Despite the modest breath on the road, the Tera MPI makes up for it with a package of standard items above the category average. The entry-level version features six airbags, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, traction and stability controls and ramp start assistant. On the dashboard, there is a digital instrument panel and a 10.1″ VW Play multimedia center, as well as electric steering, air conditioning, autopilot and rear parking sensors. The set is completed by 15″ steel wheels and the maximum score of five stars in Latin NCAP, a rare asset in the entry-level segment.

The offensive is not limited to the brand’s cheapest model: the T-Cross Seleção, a version with a differentiated finish, had its price reduced to R$ 129.990, with the balance also payable in up to 48 installments. With the new promotional tag, the utility vehicle approaches smaller models in its top-of-the-line configurations and puts pressure on opponents such as Chevrolet Tracker and Hyundai Creta in the intermediate versions.
