Volkswagen Tera has discounts of up to R$ 19.200 before the arrival of the 2027 line

Volkswagen has put the Tera 2026 on sale with discounts that reach R$ 19.200 (about 13% of the list price) to empty stocks before the arrival of the 2027 line, scheduled for October. The top-of-the-line High 1.0 turbo flex 170 TSI version concentrates the biggest cut and goes from R$ 146.190 to R$ 126.990.

At the other end of the range, the Tera MPI, with a 1.0-liter aspirated engine and a five-speed manual transmission, fell from R$ 107.190 to R$ 99.990, a reduction of R$ 7.200 that returns the entry-level version to the level charged at the launch of the SUV, in May 2025. The campaign also reaches the Polo Track, offered from R$ 86.990.

Conditions require used in exchange

The offers are valid until September 30 or while stocks last, and the values vary according to region, model and version. Most of the conditions require the delivery of a used or used car in exchange and financing by the automaker’s bank, with terms ranging from 36 to 48 months. The advertised prices do not include fees, installment fees or the total effective cost.

The commercial appeal is explained by the timing of the model: with just over a year on the market, the Tera has 61,921 registrations until August and occupies the second place among compact SUVs, a position that Volkswagen wants to preserve in the face of the arrival of the Jeep Avenger in the country.

2027 line changes engine and gains disc

brakes Presented on Saturday (5), during Rock in Rio, the 2027 line will be offered in the Comfort and High versions, both with the 1.0 turbo flex 200 TSI engine and eight-speed automatic transmission, instead of the current six. The engine, inherited from the T-Cross, delivers 116 hp with gasoline and 128 hp with ethanol, in addition to 20,4 kgfm at 2,000 rpm.

In the current configuration, the 170 TSI yields 109 hp with gasoline, 116 hp with ethanol and 16,8 kgfm. The gain, therefore, is 12 hp on ethanol and 7 hp on gasoline, accompanied by 3,6 kgfm more torque. To handle the reinforcement, the Tera 200 TSI now adopts disc brakes on all four wheels — today the rear axle still uses drums. On the outside, the only change is the “200 TSI” emblem on the trunk lid.

The current Tera accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.7 seconds with ethanol and reaches 184 km/h. Volkswagen has not yet disclosed performance, consumption or prices for the 2027 line. With 128 hp, the SUV now exceeds the limit of 115.6 hp provided for in the new Green IPI rule, which imposes an additional rate of 0.75 percentage points – a factor that can pressure the values of the Comfort and High versions.
