Volkswagen has reduced the prices of the VW T-Cross 2026, the best-selling SUV in Brazil, by up to R$ 10,000. The cut, announced last Friday (3), affects almost all versions and, according to the brand, was not accompanied by any reduction in the equipment list.
The only exception is the Sense, aimed at the PwD public, which remains at R$ 119.990. In the other configurations, the reduction was linear: the 200 TSI fell to R$ 151.490, the Comfortline to R$ 171.990, the Highline to R$ 186.290 and the new top-of-the-line Extreme to R$ 193.490. In practice, discounts vary from 4.9% to 6.2% (see table).
| Version | Previous | Current | Variation |
|---|---|---|---|
| T-Cross Sense | R$ 119.990 | R$ 119.990 | No change |
| T-Cross 200 TSI | R$ 161.490 | R$ 151.490 | -R$ 10,000 (-6.2%) |
| T-Cross Comfortline | R$ 181.990 | R$ 171.990 | -R$ 10,000 (-5.5%) |
| T-Cross Highline | R$ 196.290 | R$ 186.290 | -R$ 10,000 (-5.1%) |
| T-Cross Extreme | R$ 203.490 | R$ 193.490 | -R$ 10,000 (-4.9%) |
Officially, Volkswagen talks about portfolio evolution and strengthening competitiveness. In addition, the readjustment also moves the T-Cross away from the Taos, a larger SUV that starts at R$ 199.990 in the Comfortline version. Until then, the most complete configurations of the T-Cross touched the price of the bigger brother, which uses the same 1.4 TSI engine.

The range maintains two engines: the 200 TSI, a 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder, yields 128 hp with ethanol and 116 hp with gasoline, with 20.4 kgfm of torque, and equips the three entry-level versions. From the 200 TSI, the list gains adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. Highline and Extreme bring the 250 TSI, 1.4 turbo with 150 hp and 25,5 kgfm, always with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Extreme is distinguished by its darkened look, with a Ninja Black roof and self-sealing tires, capable of sealing small punctures.
The movement comes amid rising sales. In June, the T-Cross sold 11,752 units — the highest monthly volume ever recorded by an SUV in the country — and was the best-selling passenger car of the month. The brand celebrates the fourth consecutive year in the leadership of the segment. Before the readjustment, Volkswagen had already been testing the ground with special series such as Rock in Rio and Seleção, which offered more content for less money.

The absence of changes in the equipment draws attention because, in the sector, significant price cuts are usually accompanied by the reduction of versions. According to the specialized publication AutoData, the repositioning responds to the intensification of the compact SUV segment, which has gained new competitors in recent months. Some items are still restricted to separately paid packages, such as driving assistants (ADAS) and the panoramic sunroof.
