Volkswagen offers a bonus of R$ 30 thousand on the purchase of the Nivus Highline 2026/2027, a condition that drops the price of the coupe SUV from R$ 173.290 to R$ 143.290. The discount, however, is not open to any buyer: it necessarily depends on the delivery of a used car in exchange, and the car needs to go through a list of requirements.

According to the rules of the campaign, the used car must have been manufactured from 2014 onwards, cannot have an average of more than 10 thousand km driven per year and must be registered in the name of the buyer or a first-degree relative. It is the dealership that evaluates the vehicle and defines how much of the rebate will be applied — the R$ 30 thousand is the ceiling, not a guarantee.

The bonus also does not cover the optional ones. Anyone who wants the Outfit aesthetic package, for R$ 2,410, or the expanded ADAS package, for R$ 4,490, pays the full amount for them. In mechanics, the Nivus Highline maintains the 1.0 turbo TSI three-cylinder, with 128 hp and 20,4 kgfm, associated with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Where the discount puts the Nivus

With the full discount, the coupe SUV is below the R$ 146.190 charged by the Tera High, the top of the line of the brand’s entry-level SUV — a smaller, simpler model positioned one step below in the table. The Nivus Highline also costs less than intermediate versions of the Nivus itself, a typical distortion of end-of-month campaigns designed to rotate inventory.

Before closing the deal, the account that matters is that of the whole. The expressive bonus at zero-kilometer can be neutralized by a tight evaluation of the used car, a common practice when the automaker needs to feed the dealerships’ used car inventory. It is worth asking for car quotes on direct sales platforms and comparing it with the value offered in the exchange.

Financing is the second point of attention. Aggressive bond conditions are usually linked to credit plans with higher interest rates, and Volkswagen has also announced zero rates through Banco Volkswagen in parallel campaigns — benefits that, in general, are not cumulative. In a previous Nivus action, a plan of 0.99% per month reached a Total Effective Cost of 15.23%, which consumed a good part of the advantage of the discount. Comparing the CET of each modality before signing is the only way to know where the money is.

Taos joins the same dance

Volkswagen extended the strategy to the Taos. The Comfortline 250 TSI version drops from R$ 199.990 to R$ 183.990, a bonus of R$ 16 valid until August 31 and also conditioned to exchange for a used one – in this case, manufactured between 2014 and 2026, with spare key, manual with revision history and up-to-date documentation. With the discount, the medium SUV is cheaper than the Jeep Compass Longitude T270 and the Renault Boreal Techno, both at R$ 199.990, in a segment pressured by the arrival of Chinese brands.
