This R$ 1.54 million Sprinter became a motorhome with 4×4 and six beds

Inside, it is a luxury Swedish motorhome with six beds, a kitchen with an induction cooktop and a double heated floor. Underneath, it is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.

This is the new Kabe Imperial TRAQ i830, recently presented in Germany and which arrives as the first integrated motorhome — the one in which the driver’s cabin is incorporated into the passenger compartment — to offer the all-wheel drive of the German van.

The basis of the model is the Sprinter chassis with a 190 hp engine. As standard, the set maintains rear-wheel drive with double wheels, total gross weight of 5,500 kg and capacity for up to 7 t of combined gross weight, which allows towing heavy trailers. It is 8.32 m long, as it places the vehicle in the range of short road buses.

The novelty is in the list of options: Mercedes has released the Torque on Demand system, in which a multi-plate clutch in the transfer case distributes torque between the axles automatically, reaching 50% for each one in the most critical situations.

The driver does not activate anything in the 4×4 system, made mainly for snow, gravel and soggy camping entrance.

Who makes the motorhome

Kabe is not a small preparer. Founded in 1957 by Kurt Blomqvist in the city of Tenhult, in southern Sweden, the company was born precisely in a garage, with the owner assembling the first trailer for the family vacation, and today it is a publicly traded company on the Stockholm stock exchange, with about a thousand employees.

The company buys the ready-made chassis-cab from Mercedes and builds the rest of the vehicle in its own factory, always focusing on year-round use in cold weather, a trademark of the house.

This DNA appears in the finish: the double floor houses the 200-liter clean water tank and the 102-liter gray water tank, the latter heated so as not to freeze.

The kitchen combines two gas burners with induction cooktop, and there are two floor plans available, with separate or double beds plus lower garage.

Prices start at around R$ 1.54 million (259 thousand euros), still without the optional all-wheel drive. The model is not sold in Brazil.
