They are 30 years old, but they are still among the best-selling cars in Brazil

Cars manufactured in 1996, which complete thirty years of history in 2026, continue to have a strong presence in the Brazilian used market. A survey by Data OLX Autos, the automotive intelligence area of the OLX Group, shows that Volkswagen Gol, Chevrolet Corsa and Fiat Uno concentrate 58% of sales, 55% of ads and 53% of searches for vehicles from that year of manufacture on the platform in the first half of the year.

The Volkswagen Gol appears in the lead in all indicators. The model accounts for 24% of sales, 27% of ads and 23% of searches among cars in 1996. Next are the Chevrolet Corsa, with 19% of sales, 16% of ads and 17% of searches, and the Fiat Uno, responsible for 15%, 12% and 13%, respectively.

In addition to the nostalgic appeal, the models stand out for their price. In the first half of 2026, the median value of ads was R$ 12.250 for the Gol, R$ 10.995 for the Corsa and R$ 9.017 for the Uno. The combination of lower prices, familiar mechanics and relatively simple maintenance helps keep the models relevant in the used market.

The interest, however, is not limited to compact hatches. The Chevrolet S10 was the 1996 model that gained the most space in the platform’s searches, with a 51% increase in search. The pickup appears in fourth place among the most searched models, with 5% of searches, tied with the Fiat Palio.

In the general search ranking, in addition to Gol, Corsa, Uno and S10, Ford Escort, Volkswagen Santana, Chevrolet Omega, Chevrolet Kadett and Volkswagen Saveiro appear among the top ten. Among the most announced, the Gol also leads, followed by Corsa, Uno, Palio and Escort.
