Rezvani transforms Lamborghini Huracán into 811 hp off-road monster

Rezvani, an American preparer known for giving its designs an armored vehicle look, unveiled the Dune, an all-wheel-drive super sports car that takes the idea of an “off-road supercar” to a new extreme. Based on the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, the model will have production limited to only seven units in the world and arrives with 811 hp, almost 28 cm of clearance and 31-inch tires adapted for mud.

The timing draws attention: the Huracán has been discontinued and the Sterrato itself, a factory version with a vocation for the earth, is no longer produced, which left orphans those interested in a V10-engine super sports car prepared to come off the asphalt. It is this gap that the California company is trying to fill, with a project that, according to it, goes far beyond a simple increase in height.

While the Sterrato was conceived as a middle ground between asphalt and light dirt, the Dune embraces the off-road footprint once and for all. The bodywork, almost entirely remade of carbon fiber, gained widened fenders that raise the width to 2.23 m, in addition to functional air intakes on the hood, LED auxiliary headlights on the roof and grille, tow hooks and a snorkel to capture clean air in the dust.

The height gain comes from a custom-developed long-travel suspension, with an elevation of 11.4 cm compared to the street Huracán, something around 15 cm when added to the larger tires, mounted on 20″ wheels. Protective plates shield the floor, and the entry and exit angles reach 25 and 35 degrees, respectively. A terrain management system allows you to choose specific modes for sand, mud, rocks, snow, urban use, and Baja-style riding.

Under the tailgate, the Huracán’s naturally aspirated V10 5.2 was turbocharged by a volumetric compressor developed in partnership with VF Engineering. The power jumps to 811 hp and the torque, according to Rezvani, reaches 108,5 kgfm, about 200 hp above the Sterrato, which delivered 610 hp. Power is distributed to all four wheels by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The exclusivity has a price to match, although not revealed. Rezvani already accepts reservations with a refundable deposit of US$ 1,500 and says that each copy will be assembled according to the buyer’s preferences. For comparison, the factory Huracán Sterrato started at around US$ 280 thousand. As this is a deeply modified vehicle, there is no guarantee that Lamborghini’s traditional assistance will cover items such as the engine, suspension and carbon fiber bodywork.
