Ram offers R$ 2 thousand to those who test the Dakota and buy a competitor

Ram will pay R$ 2 thousand to those who drive the new Dakota and, even so, decide to buy a pickup from another brand. The offer is part of the Ram Power Day campaign, which runs until August 31 throughout the brand’s dealership network in Brazil.
According to the proposal announced on Monday (10), the customer who takes a test drive of the medium pickup and, after the experience, closes a deal with a competing model receives a voucher of R$ 2 thousand. The automaker did not detail what evidence will be required for redemption or whether there is a limit to participation per dealership.
The action comes at a time when Dakota still occupies a discreet position in the segment. In July, the pickup totaled 527 registrations and ranked sixth among medium pickup trucks, according to Fenabrave. In the same month, the Ford Ranger led the category with 3,402 units, ahead of the Toyota Hilux, with 3,369, and the Chevrolet S10, with 2,810.
Four versions and a single engine

The Dakota arrived in Brazilian stores in March as Ram’s first medium pickup since the brand’s independence in 2009. The range has four configurations: Laramie Night Edition, Laramie, Warlock and Big Horn, the latter the gateway, presented in June. According to the manufacturer, prices start at R$ 249.990 in the direct sale modality.
All versions use the 2.2 turbodiesel engine with 200 hp and 45,9 kgfm, associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The traction is 4×4 Auto, with a selection between 4×2 and 4×4 modes with reduced through a rotary control on the center console, in addition to mechanical locking of the rear differential. Produced in Córdoba, Argentina, the pickup shares the technical base with the Fiat Titano.
Large screens and wizard pack

Inside, the 7-inch digital dashboard is next to the 12.3-inch multimedia center, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The driving assistance package includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, as well as adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning.
The load capacity is 1,020 kg, the bucket has 1,210 liters and the pickup tows up to 3,500 kg. According to Inmetro, consumption is 9.7 km/l in the city and 10.8 km/l in the city
