Ram revealed, this Tuesday (24), the Dakota Big Horn, a new entry-level version of its midsize pickup. The model arrives with a launch price of R$ 249.990 in the direct sale mode and assumes the position of entry door to the range, which already brought together the Warlock, Laramie and Laramie Night Edition configurations.
According to Stellantis, the Big Horn is positioned as the most complete entry-level midsize pickup in the category. Produced in Argentina, the Dakota is Ram’s first midsize pickup since the brand’s creation as an independent division in 2009. Reservations are already open in the dealership network.
The mechanics are identical to the other versions: the engine is the 2.2 four-cylinder turbodiesel, with 200 hp and 45,9 kgfm of torque at 1,500 rpm, associated with the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and 4×4 traction with reduced and rotary mode selector. The set takes the pickup from 0 to 100 km/h in 9,9 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h. With a length of 5.35 m, the Dakota has a 1,210-liter bucket, a load capacity of 1,020 kg and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg.
Despite the entry positioning, the version maintains a minimal list of standard items. They include a 12.3″ multimedia center with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, digital instrument panel, and full LED headlights. Compared to the higher versions, it gives up items such as side running boards and chrome finishes, among other details.
